Conception rates and related data using frozen dog semen.

چکیده
There is much interest in the United States and other countries by dog breeders, pet owners, veterinarians and research workers who realize the great potential for the use of frozen semen. This potential is comparable to that already achieved in the cattle breeding industry. Since the first successful pregnancy utilizing frozen dog semen (Seager, 1969), work on aspects of the freezing of dog semen has continued as part of a study of dog reproductive physiology, and parameters of semen collection, evaluation, freezing and artificial insemination have been established. This study was undertaken to obtain a conception rate in dogs with frozen

Cryo-damage of Canine Semen and Its Minimization: Present Scenario
Introduction Although dog was the first species to be used for Artificial Insemination (AI) and become pregnant by Spallanzani in 1780, very little work has been done on preservation of dog semen to exploit the full genetic potential of pedigree males. Frozen semen is now inseminated routinely in cattle, sheep and goats and much research has been carried out with regard to the optimum condition...
متن کاملArtificial Insemination with Canine Semen
The most important aspect when discussing artificial ins realise that there are many factors that play a role in w bitch becomes pregnant after AI. These factors inclu (fresh vs frozen), semen quality and quantity, age and stud dog and bitch, site of semen deposition (intrauter time of insemination.... just to name a few! As you important that when comparing “conception” or more co rates” that ...
متن کاملDevelopment of Transcervical Ai in Sheep
Introduction While conception rates following cervical insemination of synchronised ewes with fresh semen are generally around 60-70%, conception rates with frozen-thawed semen are unacceptably low (<20% generally). These poor conception rates following cervical insemination with frozen-thawed semen appear to stem from two inter-related factors which are additive in their negative impacts: (a) ...
متن کاملComparative Study on Conception Rate of Cow in Using Frozen and Liquid Semen
The experiment was carried out at District Artificial Insemination (AI) Center at Khulna to evaluate the conception rate of frozen semen and locally produced liquid semen. Frozen semen from five different genotypes (Local, Sahiwal×Friesian, (Local×Friesian)2×Friesian, (Local×Friesian)×(Local×Frisian×Friesian), Local×Friesian) of bulls was taken which was served by Central Cattle Breeding Statio...
متن کاملEffect of Fresh and Frozen Semen on in vitro Fertilization and Subsequent Development of Goat Embryos
This study was undertaken to compare the efficiency of fresh and frozen-thawed buck semen on in vitro fertilization (IVF) of goat oocytes. Cumulus oocytes complexes (COCs) were collected by aspiration of 2-6 mm diameter follicles, which were obtained from slaughterhouse. Upon grading, only normal quality COCs were maturated in TCM-199 for 48 hours. The percentage of COCs reached to the M-II sta...
