On Adult Age Differences in Learning
نویسنده
چکیده
Two studies were conducted with adults from a wide range of ages to investigate the mechanisms by which a slower processing speed contributes to adult age differences in short-term learning. Although statistical control of measures of perceptual speed substantially reduced the agerelated variance in measures of associative leaming and of maze leaming, there was little evidence that speed exerted its effbcts through processes of forgetting previously correct responses or perseverating with the same incorrect resDonses.

Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders in the world. Self-management had a significant effect on seizure control and quality of life. This study was conducted to compare of the effect of educational intervention based on adult learning theory with and without telephone fallow up by nurse (Telenursing) on self-management in adult with epilepsy. This study is a randomised contr...

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of two different age groups (children and young adult) to learning of temporal-special coordination hand movement pattern. Sixty subjects according to the age (children – young adult) and receiving feedback (100%, omitted, self-control) were randomly divided into six groups. This study was done in three days. All subjects practice 100 trails...

Drawing on Norton Peirce's (1995) theory of investment and Darvin and Norton's (2015) expanded the model of investment, the present study aims to research investment in second language (L2) learning among Iranian English language learners. The participants included 852 male and female English language learners belonging to different age groups and English language proficiency levels. A ...
متن کاملAdult age differences in learning on a sequentially cued prediction task.
OBJECTIVES Much of adaptive behavior relies on the ability to learn and generate predictions about relationships in the environment. Research on aging suggests both that there is an age deficit in the ability to learn sequential relationships and that this deficit in learning could underlie age differences reported in many decision-making tasks. This article introduces the Triplets Prediction T...
متن کاملAging associations: influence of speed on adult age differences in associative learning.
Two studies, involving a total of nearly 500 Ss, were conducted to determine the mechanisms by which processing speed contributes to the relations between adult age and associative learning. Results of both studies indicated that increased age was related to poorer associative learning largely because of a failure to retain information about previously correct responses. This in turn was relate...
