چکیده
The development of a Sundman-type time-transformation for reversible variable stepsize integration of few-body problems is discussed. While a time-transformation based on minimum particle separation is suitable if the collisions only occur pairwise and isolated in time, the control of stepsize is typically much more diicult for a three-body close approach. Nonetheless, we nd that a suitable choice of time-transformation based on particle separation can work quite well for certain types of three-body simulations, particularly those involving very steep repulsive walls. We connrm these observations using numerical examples from Lennard-Jones scattering.

The stability of a large class of nonlinear sequence transformations is analyzed. of the convergence behavior of the J transformation. Similar to recent results of Sidi, it is proved that the pJ transformations , the Weniger S transformation, the Levin transformation and a special case of the Generalized Richardson Extrapolation Process of Sidi are S-stable. An eecient algorithm for the calcula...
متن کاملQMDD and Spectral Transformation of Binary and Multiple-Valued Functions*
The use of decision diagrams (DD) for the computation and representation of binary function spectra has been well studied [2,3,5]. Computations and representation of spectra for multiplevalued logic (MVL) functions have also been considered [6]. For binary functions, this approach can be implemented using one of a number of the highly efficient publicly available binary decision diagram (BDD) p...
متن کاملThe Stability of the Equilibrium of Reversible Systems
In this paper, we consider the system ẋ = a(t)y + f1(x, y, t), ẏ = −b(t)x2n+1 + f2(x, y, t), where m, n ∈ Z+, m+n ≥ 1, a(t) and b(t) are continuous, even and 1-periodic in the time variable t; f1 and f2 are real analytic in a neighbourhood of the origin (0, 0) of (x, y)-plane and continuous 1-periodic in t. We also assume that the above system is reversible with respect to the involution G : (x...
متن کاملReversible Adaptive Regularization: Perturbed Kepler Motion and Classical Atomic Trajectories
Reversible and adaptive integration methods based on Kustaanheimo-Stiefel regular-ization and modiied Sundman transformations are applied to simulate general perturbed Kepler motion and to compute classical trajectories of atomic systems (e.g. Rydberg atoms). The new family of reversible adaptive regularization (RAR) methods also conserve angular momentum and exhibit superior energy conservatio...
