چکیده

This paper presents a semi-blind algorithm for multiuser interference cancellation and fading amplitude estimation for downlink MIMO DS-CDMA systems with multipath fading channels. Taking advantage of the space-time information of the parametric multipath channel, the proposed algorithm first uses a space-time channel decoupler to suppress multiuser interference and then decomposes the channel into a set of parallel subchannels each containing the signal of the desired user on an individual multipath. Two criteria, the complementary orthogonal projection (COP) and the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR), are employed by the space-time decoupler to achieve interference suppression and signal separation. The fading amplitudes can then be estimated from the eigen space of the output of the space-time channel decoupler. It follows that the signal of interest can be maximally combined in a pathwise manner and then differentially decoded. key words: DS-CDMA, signal detection, fading amplitude estimation

Performance of Multi-antenna Array Assisted MC DS-CDMA Using Downlink Preprocessing Based on Singular Value Decomposition

In this contribution we propose and investigate a transmitter preprocessing scheme for downlink transmission in the multicarrier direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (MC DS-CDMA) systems using multiple base-station antenna arrays and each antenna array using multiple array elements. The transmitter preprocessing scheme is derived based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) approach...

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Blind space–time joint channel and direction of arrival estimation for DS-CDMA systems

A blind space–time joint channel and direction of arrival (DoA) estimation method is proposed for DS-CDMA systems. The new method employs a linear antenna array and requires only the signature sequence and timing of the desired user to blindly estimate the channel and the DoA parameters. Two blind algorithms that exploit antenna arrays are also proposed for enhancing the channel estimates. Simu...

Downlink beamforming for DS-CDMA mobile radio with multimedia services

Downlink beamforming is a promising technique €or DS-CDMA systems with multimedia services to eflectively reduce strong interferences induced by high data rate users. In this paper, we first proposed a new downlink beamforming algorithm which converts downlink beamforming problem to a virtual uplink one and takes into account of the data rate information of all users. Since the main complexity ...

Spatio-temporal Array Processing for Fdd/cdma/sdma Downlink Transmission

We address the problem of performing optimum spatio-temporal processing when using adaptive antenna arrays at base stations for multiuser downlink transmission in DS-CDMA systems, using periodic spreading sequences and assuming partial knowledge of the channel parameters of all users. This assumption typically holds in frequency-division duplex (FDD) based mobile communication systems. We consi...
