چکیده
The effect of dimethoate on the photosynthetic activity and pigments content on Cajanus cajan L. is determined by laser induced chlorophyll fluorescence (LICF) and fluorescence induction kinetics (FIK) of leaves. The LICF spectra is recorded in the region of 650-780 nm by using 405 nm violet diode laser and FIK curves are recorded at 685 and 730 nm by using 635 nm red diode laser as the excitation source and PMT as a detector. The fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) of control and as well as dimethoate treated C. cajan L plants are calculated by evaluating curve-fitted parameters using Gaussian spectral function. Vitality index is calculated by FIK curve. All these parameters along with photosynthetic pigments content are used to analyze the effect of dimethoate on C. cajan L. treated with different conc. of dimethoate (20, 40 and 80 ppm). It is found that dimethoate inhibits the plant growth even at very low concentration of 20 ppm.

متن کاملBP-ANN Approach for Modeling Cd(II) Bio-Sorption from Aqueous Solutions Using Cajanus cajan Husk
This work aims at the modeling of bio-sorption of cadmium(II) onto physically and chemically activated Cajanus cajan (Pigeon pea) husks. Experimental data obtained were fitted to a number of isotherm and kinetic models, and the results interpreted. The monolayer Cd(II) bio-sorption capacities of the husk were found to considerably increase by 2.82 times due to chemical activation, for bio-s...
متن کاملEffects of aqueous leaf extract of Cajanus cajan on litter size and serum progesterone in pregnant rats
Aqueous leaf extract of Cajanus cajan is consumed by pregnant women in our locality. However, its effect on pregnancy has not been studied. C. cajan is known to contain genistein and diadzein which are potent phytoestrogens. We studied the effect of aqueous leaf extract of C. cajan on litter size and serum progesterone in pregnant rats. Oral administration of C. cajan on timed-pregnant rats inc...
متن کاملAntioxidant status of pigeon pea, Cajanus cajan in the presence of endosulfan stress.
Antioxidative status study was made in cotyledons of 7days old as well as in leaf and stem tissues of 30 and 60 days old pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) namely Asha and Maruti subjected to different doses of endosulfan in the range 0.1-1.0%. The results revealed that the activities of the antioxidative enzymes and the antioxidant contents such as the super oxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), re...
متن کاملAnti-Fertility Activity of Methanol Extract of Bassia latifolia and Cajanus cajan in Female Albino Mice Ovaries
Bassia latifolia bud and Cajanus cajan seed were evaluated for anti-fertility activity in mature female mice. Anti-fertility activity was evaluated by observing the estrus cycle, body weight, wet weight of ovaries, steroidogenic enzymes, and substrates. Bassia latifolia bud and Cajanus cajan seed extract arrested normal oestrous cycle at dioestrous stage. The decrease in weight of ovar...
