چکیده

The concept of Jeans gravitational instability is rediscussed in the framework of the nonextensive statistics proposed by Tsallis. A simple analytical formula generalizing the Jeans criterion is derived by assuming that the un-perturbed self-gravitating collisionless gas is described by the q-parametrized class of nonextensive velocity distribution. It is shown that the critical values of wavelenght and mass depend explicitly on the nonextensive q-parameter. The standard Jeans wavelenght derived for a Maxwellian distribution is recovered in the limiting case q=1. For power-law distributions with cutoff, the instability condition is weakneed with the system becoming unstable even for wavelenghts of the disturbance smaller than the standard Jeans lenght λ J .

A nonextensive statistics approach for Langmuir waves in relativistic plasmas

The nonextensive statistics formalism proposed by Tsallis has found many applications in systems with memory effects, long range spatial correlations, and in general whenever the phase space has fractal or multi-fractal structure. These features may appear naturally in turbulent or non-neutral plasmas. In fact, the equilibrium distribution functions which maximize the nonextensive entropy stron...

How to proceed with nonextensive systems at equilibrium ?

In this paper, we show that 1) additive energy is not appropriate for discussing the validity of Tsallis or Rényi statistics for nonextensive systems at equilibrium; 2) equilibrium N-body systems with nonad-ditive energy or entropy should be described by generalized statistics whose nature is prescribed by the existence of thermodynamic equilibrium. The nonextensive statistics may be Tsallis or...

Jeans’ gravitational instability and nonextensive kinetic theory

The concept of Jeans gravitational instability is rediscussed in the framework of nonextensive statistics and its associated kinetic theory. A simple analytical formula generalizing the Jeans criterion is derived by assuming that the unperturbed self-gravitating collisionless gas is kinetically described by the q-parameterized class of power law velocity distributions. It is found that the crit...

Nonextensive triangle equality and other properties of Tsallis relative-entropy minimization

Kullback–Leibler relative-entropy has unique properties in cases involving distributions resulting from relative-entropy minimization. Tsallis relative-entropy is a one-parameter generalization of Kullback–Leibler relative-entropy in the nonextensive thermostatistics. In this paper, we present the properties of Tsallis relative-entropy minimization and present some differences with the classica...

Quasicanonical Gibbs distribution and Tsallis nonextensive statistics

We derive and study quasicanonical Gibbs distribution function which is characterized by the thermostat with finite number of particles (quasithermostat). We show that this naturally leads to Tsallis nonextensive statistics and thermodynamics, with Tsallis parameter q is found to be related to the number of particles in the quasither-mostat. We show that the chi-square distribution of fluctuati...
