چکیده

The KLOE measurements of φ radiative decays and of the ratio Γ(K S → π + π − (γ))/Γ(K S → π 0 π 0) are discussed. The first measurement aims at understanding the real nature of the scalar mesons a 0 and f 0 , whose possible compositions are q ¯ q, qq ¯ q ¯ q, or K ¯ K molecule. The second measurement is related to the estimate of the phase shift difference δ 0 − δ 2. Previous measurements were affected by a large uncertainty due to the presence of radiative effects which are correctly included in our analysis. 1 The KLOE experiment The KLOE experiment collects data at DAΦNE, an e + e −-collider with center of mass energy ∼ 1020 MeV corresponding to the φ meson mass. The detector consists of a large drift chamber surrounded by an electromagnetic calorimeter, both embedded in a magnetic field of ∼ 0.5 Tesla (Fig. 1). The drift chamber [ 1] is a cylinder 4 m in diameter and 3.3 m in length, with a stereo write-geometry for the reconstruction of the longitudinal coordinate. The momentum resolution for particles with p ≥ 100 MeV is σ p /p ≤ 0.5%. The calorimeter [ 2] is a lead/scintillating-fiber sampling calorimeter, composed of a barrel and two end-caps.

Neutron Stars in Relativistic Mean Field Theory with Isovector Scalar Meson

We study the equation of state (EOS) of β-stable dense matter and models of neutron stars in the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory with the isovector scalar mean field corresponding to the δ-meson [a0(980)]. A range of values of the δ-meson coupling compatible with the Bonn potentials is explored. Parameters of the model in the isovector sector are constrained to fit the nuclear symmetry ene...

Nuclear Matter in Relativistic Mean Field Theory with Isovector Scalar Meson

Relativistic mean field (RMF) theory of nuclear matter with the isovector scalar mean field corresponding to the δ-meson [a0(980)] is studied. While the δ-meson mean field vanishes in symmetric nuclear matter, it can influence properties of asymmetric nuclear matter in neutron stars. The RMF contribution due to δ-field to the nuclear symmetry energy is negative. To fit the empirical value, Es ≈...

Properties of the light scalar mesons face the experimental data on the φ → π 0 π 0 γ decay and the ππ scattering

Properties of the light scalar mesons face the experimental data on the φ → π 0 π 0 γ decay and the ππ scattering Abstract The high-statistical KLOE data on the φ → π 0 π 0 γ decay are described simultaneously with the data on ππ scattering and the ππ → K ¯ K reaction. The description is carried out taking into account the chiral shielding of the putative σ(600) meson and it's mixing with the w...

Effect of Isovector-scalar Meson on Neutron Star Matter in Strong Magnetic Fields

We study the effects of isovector-scalar meson δ on the equation of state (EOS) of neutron star matter in strong magnetic fields. The EOS of neutron-star matter and nucleon effective masses are calculated in the framework of Lagrangian field theory, which is solved within the mean-field approximation. From the numerical results one can find that the δ-field leads to a remarkable splitting of pr...

We apply the δ-expansion perturbation scheme to the λφ4 self-interacting scalar field theory in 3+1 D at finite temperature. In the δ-expansion the interaction term is written as λ(φ2)1+δ and δ is considered as the perturbation parameter. We compute, in this perturbation approach, the renormalized mass at finite temperature from which we get the critical temperature. The results are compared wi...
