چکیده

Systemic lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a rheumatic autoimmune disease characterized by multisystem organ involvement and by high titers of autoantibodies against several nuclear and cytoplasmic antigens (1). Numerous abnormalities of the cytokine network have been described in patients suffering from SLE as well as in murine lupus models. Some of them were shown to play a pivotal physiopathological role in certain PROINFLAMMATORY CYTOKINES (TNF alpha and IL-6) IN EGYPTIAN SLE PATIENTS WITH LUPUS NEPHRITIS Is it correlated with disease activity?

Cytokines (IL-17, IL-23, and IL-33) in Systemic lupus erythematosus in Trinidad and Tobago.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is the most common autoimmune disease. It is characterized by the presence of hundreds of autoantibodies against many organs and tissues, including the presence of a large number of autoantibodies, which are specific to self-antigens mainly of nuclear origin such as Smith antigen, double-stranded DNA (dsDNA), anti-Sjögren’s syndrome-related antigen A and B (SS...

Influence of 1 Alpha, 25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 on T Helper 17 Cells and Related Cytokines in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune disease. Emerging data suggests that T helper 17 (Th17) cells play a pathogenic role in SLE and the increased number of these cells correlates with disease activity. In recent years, 1α, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25VitD3) has been considered as an immunomodulatory factor. Objective: To investigate the effect of 1,25VitD3...

Cytokines expression in SLE nephritis.

Renal involvement is a common manifestation in course of systemic lupus erythematous (SLE) and may occur at any time. In SLE nephritis, the pattern of glomerular injury is primarily related to the formation of the immune deposits in situ, due major to antidouble-stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA) antibodies and anti- C1q. Immune complexes deposits can induce the inflammatory response by activation of ad...

Ratio of Th17/Treg and Disease Activity in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease that is characterized by T-cells imbalance. There are ongoing controversies about the role of specific T-helper cell subsets and their cytokines. The study aimed to confirm the disturbance of Th17/Treg ratio in SLE patients. Methods: Subjects were SLE patients who met the American College of Rheumatology 1997 criteria. Dis...

Effect of Proinflammatory Cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β) on Clinical Manifestations in Indian SLE Patients

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an inflammatory rheumatic disease characterized by production of autoantibodies and organ damage. Elevated levels of cytokines have been reported in SLE patients. In this study we have investigated the effect of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β) on clinical manifestations in 145 Indian SLE patients. One hundred and forty-five healthy contro...
