چکیده

In the past two decades, we have seen a rapid development in the area of mobile computing and communications due to the explosion of inexpensive, broadly available wireless devices. A mobile ad hoc network is an independent collection of mobile devices that communicate with each other over wireless links and cooperate in a distributed manner in order to provide the necessary network functionality in the absence of a fixed infrastructure. Each device in a MANET is free to move independently in any direction, and will therefore change its links to other devices frequently. In this paper we have done the performance evolution of DSR and LAR routing protocols for MAC layer in MANETs with varying network size. Number of simulation scenarios was carried out by using Glomosim-2.03 with the simulation metrics like Throughput, End-to-End Delay and Packer Delivery Ratio. From simulation results we found that both 802.11 and CSMA is suitable for DSR where as only 802.11 is suitable for LAR. Comparative Performance Analysis of AODV,DSR, TORA and OLSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using OPNET

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....

Effect of Scalability on Aodv, Dsr and Zrp Routing Protocols for Manet’s

This paper aims to compare performance of some routing protocols for Mobile Ad-Hoc networks (MANET’s) in different network sizes. A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes forming a temporary network without using any centralized access point, infrastructure, or centralized administration. Data transmission between two nodes in MANET’s, requires multiple hops as n...

A New Comparative Study of AODV & DSR Routing Protocols in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks are those networks which don’t have any fixed infrastructure. Due to mobility of nodes, frequent link breakage takes place. Therefore routing in mobile ad hoc networks is challenging task and this has led to the development of many different routing protocols. This paper analyses the performance of AODV and DSR routing protocols for the metrics Packet Delivery Ratio. This...

Analyzing interaction between network protocols, topology and traffic in wireless radio networks

We study the interaction between communication protocols, network topology and packet traffic in wireless static radio networks. A particular interest is to empirically characterize the effect of interaction between the routing layer and the MAC layer on overall system performance. Three well known MAC protocols: 802.11, CSMA, and MACA are considered. Similarly three recently proposed routing p...
