Enhancing Planning Heuristic with Landmarks

چکیده
Recently, landmarks count heuristic can increase the number of problem instances solved and improve the quality of the solutions in satisfying non-optimal planning. In order to make landmarks count heuristic optimal, we give the solution to the overestimate of landmarks count heuristic. We extend landmarks count heuristic without action cost assignments, and prove that the extension of heuristic is admissible. Our empirical evaluation shows that the extension of heuristic is admissible and can be competed with the state-of-the-art of heuristic.

Cost-Optimal Planning with Landmarks
Planning landmarks are facts that must be true at some point in every solution plan. Previous work has very successfully exploited planning landmarks in satisficing (non-optimal) planning. We propose a methodology for deriving admissible heuristic estimates for cost-optimal planning from a set of planning landmarks. The resulting heuristics fall into a novel class of multi-path dependent heuris...
متن کاملCost optimal planning with LP-based multi-valued landmark heuristic
Landmark based heuristics are among the most accurate current known admissible heuristics for cost optimal planning. Disjunctive action landmarks can be considered as at-least-one constraints on the actions they contains. In many planning domains, there are many critical propositions which have to be established for a number of times. Previous landmarks fail to express this kind of general card...
متن کاملLandmarks Revisited
Landmarks for propositional planning tasks are variable assignments that must occur at some point in every solution plan. We propose a novel approach for using landmarks in planning by deriving a pseudo-heuristic and combining it with other heuristics in a search framework. The incorporation of landmark information is shown to improve success rates and solution qualities of a heuristic planner....

متن کاملFlow-Based Heuristics for Optimal Planning: Landmarks and Merges
We describe a flow-based heuristic for optimal planning that exploits landmarks and merges. The heuristic solves a linear programming (LP) problem that represents variables in SAS planning as a set of interacting network flow problems. The solution to the LP provides a reasonable admissible heuristic for optimal planning, but we improve it considerably by adding constraints derived from action ...
