Cervical Septal Remnants

چکیده
Early in female embryonic development the uterus, oviduct, and vagina arise from paired line. Müllerian duct anomalies (MDAs) result from defects in fusion or incomplete resorption. Failure of resorption of the median septum results in a septate or subseptate uterus. Complete or partial duplication of the uterine cavities depends on whether the failure of resorption is complete or partial (1).

متن کاملBilateral Cervical Chondrocutaneous Remnants: A Case Report
Cervical chondrocutaneous remnants are uncommon congenital lesions which may be unilateral or bilateral. Although the clinical characteristics of these lesions are well described, their embryological origin is debated. Treatment of these lesions are complete excision, but before the excision, clinicians must consider that these lesions are associated with several anomalies and malformations. We...
متن کاملBilateral cervical chondrocutaneous remnants: a case report and review of the literature.
Cervical chondrocutaneous remnants are less common lesions, which are encountered at the lateral neck. They are similar in appearance to preauricular tags, which are more frequent. Bilateral appearance of this pathology is quite uncommon. The lesions always present at birth, and are located in the middle or lower third of the lateral neck with a significant prevalence of location anterior to th...
متن کاملEmbryonic remnants of intercentra and cervical ribs in turtles
A broad sample of extant turtles possesses a series of paired bones in the neck that are situated between the cervical vertebrae. These paired bones were originally proposed to be cervical rib remnants, but have more recently been interpreted as vestiges of intercentra. Here, we document, for the first time, the neck development of a pleurodire turtle, Emydura subglobosa, and identify blastemat...

Great advances in screening have lowered the death rate from cervical cancer in the advanced countries. The major advances in cervical cancer screening include the Papanicolaou (Pap) test and liquid-based cytology (LBC). In this study, we aimed to use cell remnants from LBC specimens from uterine cervix and endometrium, aspirates from breast and thyroid tumors, and liquid samples (ascites, pleu...
