چکیده
Downlo roRNAs (miRNA), a class of natural RNA-interfering agents, have recently been identified as attractive s for therapeutic intervention. The rationale for developing miRNA therapeutics is based on the premise berrantly expressed miRNAs play key roles in the development of human disease, and that correcting miRNA deficiencies by either antagonizing or restoring miRNA function may provide a therapeutic benlthough miRNA antagonists are conceptually similar to other inhibitory therapies, restoring the function iRNA by miRNA replacement is a less well characterized approach. Here, we discuss the specific propof a m erties of miRNA replacement and review recent examples that explored the therapeutic delivery of miRNA mimics in animal models of cancer. Downlo atocellular carcinoma (HCC) is generally a fatal disease due to a paucity of effective treatment options. entification of oncogenic microRNAs that exert pleiotropic effects in HCC cells may offer new theratargets. In this study, we have identified the human microRNA miR-191 as a potential target for HCC y. Inhibition of miR-191 decreased cell proliferation and induced apoptosis in vitro ...

wnloaded h the advent of mouse models that recapitulate the cellular and molecular pathology of pancreatic asia and cancer, it is now feasible to recruit and deploy these models for the evaluation of various preventive and/or anticancer regimens. The highly lethal nature of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoDAC) makes multiple areas of research a priority, including assessment of compounds that pre...

Downlo DNA damage response (DDR) activates downstream pathways including cell cycle checkpoints. The D1 gene is overexpressed or amplified in many human cancers and is required for gastrointestinal, , and skin tumors in murine models. A common polymorphism in the human cyclin D1 gene is atively spliced, resulting in cyclin D1a and D1b proteins that differ in their carboxyl terminus. Cyclin erex...

Downlo -term pregnancies are associated with long-term reductions in maternal risk of breast cancer, but the ical determinants of the protection are unknown. Experimental observations suggest that human chogonadotropin (hCG), a major hormone of pregnancy, could play a role in this association. A case-control (242 cases and 450 controls) nested within the Northern Sweden Maternity Cohort include...
