Wireless Resource Management Scheme for Mobile Multimedia

Future wireless networks are expected to support multimedia applications. Wireless links, however, have poor quality and should support host mobility. In this paper, we introduce the concept of a minimum bandwidth guaranteed service as a mobile service. Our service model guarantees only minimum bandwidth with which minimum tolerable quality can be obtained, and shares the leftover bandwidth fairly among all ows to enhance their quality of service. This service also considers each channel condition to improve the link utilization. We also present a packet scheduling method to provide the minimum bandwidth guaranteed service.
