چکیده
Different kinds of oxidants (free radicals) produced during aerobic metabolisms of fat, protein, carbohydrates and xenobiotics, not only create oxidative stress and damage to macromolecules but are implicated in the pathogenesis of several neurological, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, carcinogenic and radiation related disorders, requiring their neutralization, amelioration or immunity boost up through Antioxidantsphytonutrients, dietary or endogenous protection systems. A well balanced, BMI based, low calory diet full of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fibers, antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids obtained from natural, fresh, seasonal and local fruits, coloured vegetables, pulses, sprouts, nuts and vegetable oils is preferable over non vegetarian diet of orthorexies for good health and immunity. The best fix is to have a variety of all right foods to increase i) protein intake (soya, fortified flours) ii) get coarse cereals (bajra, sorghum, oat, maize, blend of wheat and soya) iii) Increased intake of fruits and vegetables( banana, apple, pomegranate, guava, citrus, papaya, watermelon, grapes : tomato, okra, spinach, carrot, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, Khol khol, chillies, onion), iv) increased uptake of antioxiants (black grapes, beet root, carrot, coloured chillies,, lettuce, tomato and leafy vegetables apart from fruits and spices) v) enough omega 3 fatty acids ( methi, soya, almond, walnut, flax and sesame seeds, urid, chana, chawli and leafy vegs.). Phytonutrients, dietary supplements and SOD enzymes could be used for preparing Ayurvedic medicines, herbal shampoos, creams, drinks, facials and sugar and stress free products after isolating, characterizing and purifying antioxidantive products.

Reactive Oxygen Species and Antioxidant in Seminal Plasma and Their Impact on Male Fertility
Spermatozoa generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) in physiological amounts which play a role in sperm functions during sperm capacitation acrosome reaction (AR) and oocyte fusion. In addition damaged sperm are likely to be the source of ROS. The most important ROS produced by human sperm are hydrogen peroxide superoxide anion and hydroxyl radicals. Besides human seminal plasma and sperm posses...
متن کاملI-3: Reactive Oxygen Species: A Dilemma for
Spermatozoa are very special cells and constantly exposed to the interphase between oxidative stress through high amounts of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and leukocytes, and reduction by means of scavengers and antioxidants. Considering the very special functions of spermatozoa as being the only cells with such high polarization and exerting their functions outside the body, even in a differen...

The pathology of numerous chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular dysfunctions, atherosclerosis, inflammation, carcinogenesis, drug toxicity, diabetes mellitus, aging and neurodegenerative involves oxidative damage to cellular components. When body cells use oxygen to generate energy, free radicals are created as a consequence of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production by the mitochondria whic...
متن کاملP-12: Effect of Centrifugation on Levels of Stress Oxidative of Human Spermatozoa
Background: Cryopreservation has adverse effect on human spermatozoa via exposure to physical and chemical stress that may lead to alter in reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. During sperm preparation or cryopreservation, centrifugation as a physical stress may effect on sperm quality probably with stress oxidative production and membrane damage. Therefore the aim of this study was to evaluat...
متن کاملThe Neglected Significance of “Antioxidative Stress”
Oxidative stress arises when there is a marked imbalance between the production and removal of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in favor of the prooxidant balance, leading to potential oxidative damage. ROSs were considered traditionally to be only a toxic byproduct of aerobic metabolism. However, recently, it has become apparent that ROS might control many different physiological processes such a...
