Net Change Material Requirements Planning
نویسنده
چکیده
Defined and evaluated are concepts and characteristics of net change, a method that facilitates replanning and provides timely response to chunge in a transaction-oriented system. (MRP) entail an inherent massive data-handling task. Consequently , batch-oriented MRP systems tend to be untimely in their response to change since replanning can be done only periodically at best, probably once a week. A method of continuous replanning that minimizes the number of accesses to inventory records and bills of material at any given time is presented in this paper. Called net change, this approach offers the user the ability to replan at high frequency, or continuously in a transaction driven system. The COPICS manuals describe a system that is based on net change material requirements planning.' The purpose of this paper is to provide insight to the concepts of net change and to define the essential characteristics of an MRP system that is designed to utilize these concepts. Because net change is a variation on a theme, this theme of conventional material requirements planning, one of the two principal approaches to manufacturing inventory management, is described first, so as to establish proper perspective for the reader. There are two alternate fundamental approaches, and two sets of techniques that a manufacturing enterprise may employ in the management of inventories. They are: Statistical inventory control (also called order-point tech

Planning Via Petri Net Unfolding: Generalisation and Improvements
Recent research has connected automated planning and techniques for analysing reachability in Petri nets. One outcome is a new forward search approach to partial-order planning, based on translating planning problems into Petri nets and guiding a Petri net reachability technique called unfolding with planning heuristics. Unfolding is an attractive method for planning as it naturally enables the...
متن کاملMotion Planning for Humanoid Robots Using Timed Petri Net and Modular State Net
In this paper, we propose a supervisory control system for motion planning of humanoid robots. The proposed system is hierarchically structured into two levels. The lower level controls and monitors the robots using modular state nets. The upper level generates an optimal sequence of motion for user’s requirements using timed Petri nets. Keywords— humanoid robot, modular state net, timed Petri ...
متن کاملUsing planning steps for production planning
new planning methodology for coping with this uncertainty caused by disruptions is presented. Planning steps described by their preconditions and their consequences are used for material requirements planning and scheduling. Preconditions of planning steps have to be satisfied in a certain state of environment for the planning steps to be applicable. Consequences of planning steps change the st...
متن کاملSupply chain master planning considering material-financial flows
In this study, tactical decisions considering the material and financial flows in a supply chain have been made. To achieve these aims and some effective solutions, a multi-objective mathematical model proposed for an integrated supply chain master planning problem. The multi-product, multi-period and capacitated supply chain network has three objective functions. Two first objective functions ...
متن کاملThe early road to material requirements planning
Material requirements planning (MRP) systems became a prominent approach to managing the flow of raw material and components on the factory floor in the late 20th century. Its adoption was not an over night phenomenon, but was a slow progression over many decades. This article chronicles many developments and events during the formative years of MRP, highlighting changes in computer technology ...
