Treatment of sebaceous gland hyperplasia with the pulsed dye laser.

چکیده
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Sebaceous gland hyperplasia may be treated by cryotherapy, cauterization, topical chemicals, or excision. The major disadvantage of these therapeutic strategies is a considerable risk of postoperative scarring or dyspigmentation. The pulsed dye laser may be an effective and safe alternative treatment option. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS Our report presents two patients with sebaceous gland hyperplasia who were treated with the pulsed dye-laser (585 nm, 6.5-8 J/cm2, 300-450/microsecond). RESULTS After 2-3 treatment sessions, the lesions were completely gone. To data, no side effects have been observed. CONCLUSIONS Based upon our experiences, we recommend the pulsed dye laser as a safe, fast, and minimal straining treatment alternative for hyperplasia of sebaceous glands.

Elucidating the pulsed-dye laser treatment of sebaceous hyperplasia in vivo with real-time confocal scanning laser microscopy.
BACKGROUND Several case reports document successful treatment of sebaceous hyperplasia with the pulsed-dye laser. Moreover, noninvasive real-time confocal laser scanning microscopy elucidates the vascular nature of these lesions and their pathophysiologic response to treatment mediated by vessel coagulation. METHODS Ten patients with 29 lesions of sebaceous hyperplasia were treated with 3 sta...
متن کاملA Novel Approach to the Treatment of Sebaceous Hyperplasia and Post- Procedural Purpura with Pulsed-Dye Laser
Background: Sebaceous hyperplasia is a benign but clinically and cosmetically unappealing lesion. Historical treatments include cauterization, cryotherapy, chemical ablation, and surgical removal, all of which increase the risk for permanent post-operative adverse effects. The pulsed-dye laser (PDL) offers a safe and effective approach to the treatment of sebaceous hyperplasia in Fitzpatrick sk...

Cyclosporin and azathioprine are immunosuppressive drugs, used widely in kidney transplant patients. A significant association between immunosuppressive therapy and multiple warts was described several years ago. There are also some reports of sebaceous gland hyperplasia in kidney transplant patients receiving cyclosporin. We report herein a 57-year-old woman who developed multiple warts on her...
متن کاملPyogenic granuloma following treatment with pulsed dye Laser: Report of two cases
Pulsed dye laser (PDL) is an effective treatment for port- wine stain and can cause some short- term and long- term side- effects. Pyogenic granoluma is one of its late- onset adverse effects. Herein, we present two cases of pyogenic granoluma following treatment of port- wine stain with PDL.

Inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus (IL VEN) is a benign hyperplasia of the epidermis of unknown cause that most commonly occurs on the lower extremities.l ? The lesion usually appears in early childhood and is persistent and pruritic. Treatments for ILVEN have been associated with high rates ofrecurrence and/or scarring. This is the first report of successful treatment of ILVEN with ...
