چکیده

The practical calibration rooms for neutron measuring devices are relatively small, where a large amount of room-reflected neutrons arise. Moreover the different structures of neutron irradiation apparatus influence the neutron spectrum and reference dose considerably. Therefore the influence of the neutron scattering was investigated in the three calibration rooms in different sizes and installed with different-structural irradiation apparatus in JNC. The investigation was made by MCNP-4B calculation of neutron spectrum and measurements with neutron dose equivalent rate meter and the shadow cone. By making corrections on above influences, the calibration factors of neutron dose equivalent rate meter obtained in the three different calibration rooms agreed within a reasonable deviation.

Design and calibration of a passive detector for separating neutron, proton and alpha particles in mixed radiation fields

In this study, calibration process was carried out for deigned new CR-39 nuclear track detector for protons, neutrons and alpha particles separately under the same etching condition. In order to aim this purpose, americium-beryllium standard source (241Am-Be) and Plexiglas phantom for neutron irradiation, brass collimators and americium standard source (241Am) for alpha irradiation and the acce...

محاسبه ثابت کالیبراسیون شمارنده فعال‌سازی با پوشش نقره‌ای و مقایسه آن با نتایج تجربی به‌منظور اندازه‌گیری بهره نوترونی در دستگاه پلاسمای کانونی

The silver activation counters are commonly used for pulsed-neutron yield measurements especially in plasma focus devices. The counter normally consists of a Geiger-Muller tube along with silver foils and polyethylene (as a moderator), which is calibrated against an Am-Be radioisotope neutron source. The neutrons, after being slowed-down in the polyethylene, activate the silver foils. By measur...

Nuclear Radiations Induced Change in Thermal and Structural Properties of 2-}[4-(2-HydroxyBenzylideneamino) Phenylimino] Methyl{ Phenol (PAM) Schiff Base

The variation of thermal and structural properties of 2-{[4-(2-hydroxybenzylideneamino) phenylimino]methyl}phenol (PAM)Schiff base were studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and powder X-ray diffraction techniques before and after fast neutron (1.050 and 1.740kGy), beta (11.01Gy) and gamma (453.0Gy) irradiations. Under fast neutron irradiation, the melting and decomposition enth...

Modeling the measurement of VVER-1000 reactor power by neutron and gamma radiation with MCNP code

The present study deals with a new method for measuring the power of a reactor. This method uses gamma and neutron radiation resulted from the entire reactor structure, without changing its structure (online). In terms of functionality, this method can measure the reactor power in real-time and report it instantly. In order to obtain the relationship between reactor power and gamma and neutron ...

Neutron flux Measurement at Tapiro fast reactor for APD’s Irradiation fluence evaluation

The Avalanche Photodiodes (APD) were chosen as photon sensors for the barrel region of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter. The LHC will be a hard environment for what concerns the radiation levels in the detectors. The most relevant damage on APDs is caused by neutrons that produce an increase in the dark current of these devices. In the CMS-ECAL collaboration a big effort was indeed done to u...
