چکیده

Phylogenetic analysis of 166 human parvovirus B19 sequences from 11 different countries attributed 91.57% to genotype 1, 5.42% to genotype 3b, and 3.01% to genotype 3a. Very similar viruses of genotype 1 circulated widely in Europe and Israel. Genotype 3b seems to show an increasing spread outside of Africa.

Identification and genetic diversity of two human parvovirus B19 genotype 3 subtypes.

Three genotypes (1-3) of human parvovirus B19 have been identified. Analysis of 13 nearly full-length genotype 3 sequences from Ghana, Europe and Brazil identified two genetically distinct clusters. The classification of genotype 3 strains into two subtypes (B19/3a and B19/3b) is proposed. The rate of evolutionary change of B19 genotype 3 strains (2 x 10(-4) nucleotide substitutions per site pe...

Phylogenetic analysis of human parvovirus B19, indicating two subgroups of genotype 1 in Vietnamese patients.

Recently, three distinct genotypes (1, 2 and 3) of human parvovirus B19 (B19) have been identified. However, the characteristics and distribution of B19 genotypes in Vietnam have not been investigated. Phylogenetic analysis using 49 subgenomic NS1/VP1u regions and two coding NS1-VP1/VP2 regions has been applied to investigate the prevalence of B19 genotypes in Vietnamese patients co-infected wi...

Genetic variants of human parvovirus B19 in South Africa: cocirculation of three genotypes and identification of a novel subtype of genotype 1.

Parvovirus B19 comprises three distinct genotypes (1, 2, and 3). The distribution of B19 genotypes has not before been examined in South Africa. Two hundred thirty-nine laboratory samples submitted to a diagnostic virology laboratory for parvovirus DNA detection were analyzed retrospectively. Of the 53 PCR-positive samples investigated, 40 (75.4%) were identified as genotype 1 by genotype-speci...

INTRODUCTION: Human parvovirus B19 (B19V) is associated with a wide range of clinical symptoms. An acute infection can lead to anemia, erythema infectiosum, or hydrops fetalis, as well as arthritis and other clinical manifestations. Among other diseases associated with B19V, several demyelinating disorders may occur as a result of B19V infection. Phylogenetic analysis of partial erythrovirus se...

The prevalence and persistence of human parvovirus B19 infection in thalassemic patients.

Human parvovirus B19 infection was studied in 60 thalassemic patients in Thailand. Seroprevalence, persistence of parvovirus B19 and their genotypes were identified in blood samples. Prevalence of anti-parvovirus B19 IgG and DNA found in thalassemic patients were 38% and 13%, respectively. Anti-parvovirus B19 IgM could be detected in 4% of these positive anti-parvovirus B19 IgG patients. The se...
