Trodden We study inflation on a non-commutative space–time within the framework of enveloping algebra approach which allows for a consistent formulation of general relativity and of the standard model of particle physics. We show that within this framework, the effects of the non-commutativity of spacetime are very subtle. The dominant effect comes from contributions to the process of structure formation. We describe the bound relevant to this class of non-commutative theories and derive the tightest bound to date of the value of the non-commutative scale within this framework. Assuming that inflation took place, we get a model independent bound on the scale of space–time non-commutativity of the order of 19 TeV. © 2015 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. Embedding of a 2D Graphene System in Non-Commutative Space

The BFT approach is used to formulate the electronic states in graphene through a non-commutative space in the presence of a constant magnetic field B for the first time. In this regard, we introduce a second class of constrained system, which is not gauge symmetric but by applying BFT method and extending phase space, the second class constraints  converts  to the first class constraints so th...

Noncommutative inflation

In spite of the success of the inflationary Universe scenario [1] in solving some of the mysteries of standard cosmology and of providing a mechanism which explains the origin of density fluctuations on cosmological scales, a mechanism which to date has passed all of the observational challenges, we still do not have a convincing realization of inflation based on fundamental physics. Moreover, ...

On Commutative Reduced Baer Rings

It is shown that a commutative reduced ring R is a Baer ring if and only if it is a CS-ring; if and only if every dense subset of Spec (R) containing Max (R) is an extremally disconnected space; if and only if every non-zero ideal of R is essential in a principal ideal generated by an idempotent.

Strong Planck constraints on braneworld and non-commutative inflation

Abstract. We place observational likelihood constraints on braneworld and non-commutative inflation for a number of inflaton potentials, using Planck, WMAP polarization and BAO data. Both braneworld and non-commutative scenarios of the kind considered here are limited by the most recent data even more severely than standard general-relativity models. At more than 95% confidence level, the monom...

String Theory, Space-Time Non-Commutativity and Structure Formation

A natural consequence of string theory is a non-commutative structure of space-time on microscopic scales. The existence of a minimal length, and a modification of the effective field theory are two consequences of this space-time non-commutativity. I will first explore some consequences of the modifications of the effective field theory for structure formation in the context of an inflationary...
