چکیده

The integration among DW, OLAP and GIS has been given considerable attention in recent years by many researchers and industrial corporations. This may be a result of: 1) DW/OLAP can improve GIS spatial queries whereas, 2) a GIS can provide better support to deal with the DW/OLAP geographic data. Some research about this integration has already been done. However, these approaches do not deal with open and extensible solutions. In order to address this problem, we use the GOLAPA architecture, which follows Java, XML and Web Service technologies. Based on this architecture, this paper proposes GML for Analysis (GMLA), which provides a XML format to integrate and interchange geographical multidimensional data. GMLA is based on OLAP and GIS XML standards, namely XML for Analysis (XMLA) and Geography Markup Language (GML), respectively.

Towards a Web Service for Geographic and Multidimensional Processing

A lot of research has been developed for integrating the analysis functionality that is available in both analytic and geographic processing systems. The main goal is to provide users with a system capable of processing both geographic and multidimensional data by abstracting the complexity of separately querying and analyzing these data in a decision making process. However, this integration m...

An Interactive Tool Based on Xml Technology for Data Exchange between Heterogeneous Erp Systems

Data exchange between enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in a supply chain system needs to fulfill requirements of both schema integration and message translation. Since ERP systems with relational database systems are developed independently, schema conflicts between databases is a common problem for schema integration. Thus, supply chain partners need to preserve the data integrity of...

Integrating XML Sources into a Data Warehouse

Since XML has become a standard for data exchange over the Internet, especially in B2B and B2C communication, there is an increasing need of integrating XML data into data warehousing systems. In this paper we propose a methodology for data warehouse design, when data sources are XML Schemas and conforming XML documents. Particular relevance is given to the conceptual and logical multidimension...

Designing XML Pivot Models for Master Data Integration via UML Profile

The majority of Information Systems is concerned by heterogeneity in both data and solutions. The use of this data thus becomes complex, inefficient and expensive in business applications. The issues of data integration, data storage, design and exchange of models are strongly linked. The need to federate data sources and to use standard modelling formalism is apparent. In this paper, we propos...
