چکیده
Three novel triterpene glycosides (1 – 3), namely lycicoside I, II and cilicicoside I, were isolated from two different Cephalaria (Dipsacaceae) species along with one known oleananeand one iridoit-type of glycoside. The structures of these compounds were established as 3-O-[β -D-glucopyranosyl(1→3)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→4)-β -D-xylopyranosyl(1→4)-β -D-xylopyranosyl]-28-O-[β -Dglucopyranosyl(1→6)-β -D-glucopyranosyl]-oleanolic acid (1), 3-O-[β -D-xylopyranosyl(1→3)-αL-rhamnopyranosyl(1→4)-β -D-xylopyranosyl]-28-O-[β -D-glucopyranosyl]-oleanolic acid (2) from Cephalaria lycica Matthew and 3-O-{β -D-glucopyranosyl(1→4)-β -D-xylopyranosyl(1→3)-α-Lrhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-[β -D-glucopyranosyl(1→3)]-α -L-rhamnopyranosyl}-28-O-[β -D-glucopyranosyl(1→6)-β -D-glucopyranosyl]-hederagenin (3) from Cephalaria cilicica Boiss. & Kotschy, on the basis of spectroscopic methods (1D and 2D NMR techniques, mass spectrometry) and chemical evidence. In addition, three new prosapogenins, 1B – 3B, were obtained from the basic hydrolysis of 1 – 3. The antimicrobial activity of 1 – 3was tested against some Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria strains.

متن کاملCephalaria transsylvanica-Based Flower Strips as Potential Food Source for Bees during Dry Periods in European Mediterranean Basin Countries
The introduction of sown wildflower strips favours the establishment of pollinator communities, with special reference to social Apoidea. Here, we evaluated the late summer flowering Cephalaria transsylvanica as suitable species for strips providing food for pollinators in paucity periods. C. transsylvanica showed no particular requirements in terms of seed germination and growth during summer....

Eremostachys pulvinaris (family: Labiatae), one of the 60 species of the genus Eremostachys, occurs mainly in central Asian countries, e.g. Iran, Armenia, Ashgabad and the USSR. The rhizomes of this plant were collected from Tabriz in Azarbaijan province during September-October 2003. There is no report on any previous phytochemical investigation on E. pulvinaris available todate, phytochemical...

In the last five decades study on plant secondary metabolites have been increasing. Higher plants with a wide range of secondary metabolites have been very important in the search of new therapeutic agents. Flavonoids are most widely distributed secondary natural metabolites that found in plants which occuring in free forms or as glycosides with polyphenolic structure. In this study secondary m...
