Reducing Simulation Time

We present a survey of some recent techniques that allow a significant reduction in simulation time, namely statistical simulation, sampled simulation or reduced input benchmarks. We also note that these techniques are not useful in analysing memory systems. Thus, we provide a study of analytical memory models that have been used to model cache performance.
