HIJ~~ K. R. and CHINO T. C. 1972. Presumptive neurosecretion in Leucochloridiomorpha constantiae (Trematoda) and its possible role in governing maturation. International Journal for Parasitology 2: 361-367. A review of literature dealing with neurosecretion in the Platyhelminthes is presented and presumptive neurosecretory cells associated with the cerebral ganglia and longitudinal nerve cords of Leucochloridiomorpha constant& metacercariae and adults are described. Both the mean number of aldehyde-fuchsin stained presumptive neurosecretory cells and the intensity of staining are less in adults than in metacerdae. This suggests that maturation in this trematode may be directly or indirectly associated with a reduction in neurosecretion as in nereid annelids. Results of cytochemical studies indicate the neurosecretory product contains a glycoprotein.

REST-Governed Gene Expression Profiling in a Neuronal Cell Model Reveals Novel Direct and Indirect Processes of Repression and Up-Regulation
The role of REST changes in neurons, including the rapid decrease of its level during differentiation and its fluctuations during many mature functions and diseases, is well established. However, identification of many thousand possible REST-target genes, mostly based on indirect criteria, and demonstration of their operative dependence on the repressor have been established for only a relative...
متن کاملThe Concept of Power in International Relations
The terms of Power, influence and authority could be heard in political world vastly, but using these terms is not leaving only to this realm. Despite its visual simplicity, generally there is not similar and equal perception about term of Power among people. Understanding about by politicians differs from lawyer perception about this term. What people takes about Power, totally differ from wh...
متن کاملP-34: Effect of Including Growth Factors andAntioxidants in Maturation Medium Used forIn vitro Culture of Buffalo Oocytes RecoveredIn vivo
Background: This study examined the effect of including one of two growth factors (100 ng/ml IGF-1 or 20 ng/ ml EGF) in combination with one of two antioxidants (50 μM cysteamine or 50 μM beta-mercaptoethanol) in invitro maturation of buffalo oocytes, followed by fertilization and subsequent development of embryos. Materials and Methods: The oocytes were recovered by in vivo ovum pick-up techni...
متن کاملDetection of Ornithobilharzia turkestanikum cercaria (trematoda) by nested-PCR in intermediate host snail, Lymnaea gedrosiana
Trematodes are important in economic and public health. Ornithobilharzia turkestanicum (O. turkestanicum) is one of the important economic trematodes in domestic animals. Ornithobilharzia infection in intermediate host (Lymnaea gedrosiana ) can be detected by either exposing snails to light to induce cercarial shedding or by squeezing them between glass slides to detect parasites. The current...
متن کاملO-10: A Marked Animal-Vegetal Polarity in The Localization of Na+,K+-ATPase Activity and Its Down-Regulation Following Progesterone-Induced Maturation
Background: Polarized cells are key to the process of differentiation. Xenopus oocyte is a polarized cell that has complete blue-print to differentiate 3 germ layers following fertilization, as key determinant molecules (Proteins and RNAs) are asymmetrically localized. The objective of this work was to localize Na+, K+-ATPase activity along animal-vegetal axis of polarized Xenopus oocyte and fo...
