Time-frequency analysis and nonstationary filtering

چکیده
We illustrate several adaptive algorithms for the solutions of bi-infinite singular linear systems. Such algorithms are realized from exact iterative schemes (e.g., Richardson, steepest-descent methods, matching pursuit) by finite dimensional approximations of each iteration, performed with a greedy approach. We show that these algorithms are convergent and optimal with respect to certain sparseness classes of vectors as soon as the system matrix has sufficient off-diagonal decay. Bi-infinite linear systems of this type typically arise in the solution of functional operator equations (e.g., integral and differential equations) by discretization with respect to frames, i.e., stable, complete, and redundant expansions. We present applications in signal processing/transmission and PDE.

Application of Single-Frequency Time-Space Filtering Technique for Seismic Ground Roll and Random Noise Attenuation
Time-frequency filtering is an acceptable technique for attenuating noise in 2-D (time-space) and 3-D (time-space-space) reflection seismic data. The common approach for this purpose is transforming each seismic signal from 1-D time domain to a 2-D time-frequency domain and then denoising the signal by a designed filter and finally transforming back the filtered signal to original time domain. ...
متن کاملTheory of nonstationary linear filtering in the Fourier domain
A general linear theory is presented which describes the extension of the convolutional method to nonstationary processes. This theory can apply any linear, nonstationary filter, with arbitrary time and frequency variation, in the time, Fourier, or mixed (time-frequency) domains. The filter application equations and the expressions to move the filter between domains are all ordinary Fourier tra...
متن کاملOn the time-frequency analysis based filtering
Efficient processing of nonstationary signals requires time-varying approach. An interesting research area within this approach is time-varying filtering. Since there is a certain amount of freedom in the definition of timevarying spectra, several definitions and solutions for the time-varying filtering have been proposed so far. Here we will consider the Wigner distribution based time-varying ...
متن کاملAn Efficient Hardware Design of a System for Highly Nonstationary Signals Filtering
An efficient multicycle hardware design of a time-varying (TV) filtering system, based on time-frequency (TF) analysis, is developed by following the idea of a new method for filter’s region of support (FRS) real-tame estimation, also proposed here. Quite general estimation method provides multiple detection of the local filter’s regions of support (in observed time-instant) in the practically ...
متن کاملUsing Time Deformation to Filter Nonstationary Time Series with Multiple Time-Frequency Structures
For nonstationary time series consisting ofmultiple time-varying frequency (TVF) componentswhere the frequency of components overlaps in time, classical linear filters fail to extract components. The G-filter based on time deformation has been developed to extract components of multicomponent G-stationary processes. In this paper, we explore the wide application of the G-filter for filtering di...
متن کاملOPTIMAL DETECTION USING BILINEARTIME - FREQUENCY AND TIME - SCALE REPRESENTATIONSAkbar
Bilinear time-frequency representations (TFRs) and timescale representations (TSRs) are potentially very useful for detecting a nonstationary signal in the presence of nonstationary noise or interference. As quadratic signal representations, they are promising for situations in which the optimal detector is a quadratic function of the observations. All existing time-frequency formulations of qu...
