Reliability Analysis of Aircraft Servo-Actuation Systems Using Evidential Networks

چکیده
Servo-actuation system is one of the key executing subsystems of the flight control system of an aircraft. With the development of fly-by-wire control systems, redundant servo-actuation systems have been extensively applied. A servo-actuation system has a long life and high reliability, which results in the lack of failure information. In the mean time, available data is insufficient and imprecise during its design stage. In this paper, evidential networks (EN) are used to handle imprecise probabilities. The formulae of marginal belief mass for series system, parallel system, series-parallel system and parallel-series system are represented respectively. The basic reliability model and the mission reliability model of a three-redundancy servoactuation system in an aircraft flight control system are analyzed using EN approach, respectively. The EN manage and quantify the imprecision of the servo-actuation effectively, and propagate imprecision from the root nodes to the top nodes representing the system reliability.

متن کاملLinear Extended State Observer-Based Motion Synchronization Control for Hybrid Actuation System of More Electric Aircraft
Moving towards the more electric aircraft (MEA), a hybrid actuator configuration provides an opportunity to introduce electromechanical actuator (EMA) into primary flight control. In the hybrid actuation system (HAS), an electro-hydraulic servo actuator (EHSA) and an EMA operate on the same control surface. In order to solve force fighting problem in HAS, this paper proposes a novel linear exte...
متن کاملReliability Assessment of Actuator Architectures for Unmanned Aircraft ?
A reliability assessment framework is presented for small unmanned aerial vehicles. The analysis considers several candidate architectures with different numbers of controllable surfaces and servos. It is assumed that a servo fault detection algorithm is available and affected by known rates of false alarms and missed detections. The aircraft flight envelope is analyzed to determine the fault l...
متن کاملApplication of Evidential Networks in quantitative analysis of railway accidents
Currently, a high percentage of accidents in railway systems are accounted to human factors. As a consequence, safety engineers try to take into account this factor in risk assessment. However, human reliability data are very difficult to quantify, thus, qualitative methods are often used in railway system’s risk assessments. Modeling of human errors through probabilistic approaches has shown s...

The study investigates the effects of servo valve nonlinearity, actuation compliance and friction related nonlinearity on the dynamics of a flight control surface, during its deployment through an electro-hydraulic actuation system. Starting from the pilot command, a realistic model of the electro-hydraulic actuation system is evolved, which includes the command lags, servo valve nonlinearity, ...
