Secreted trimeric viral envelope proteins as a tool for new vaccine design and biochemical assays
نویسنده
چکیده
properties of these proteins there is a pressing need to produce recombinant proteins in secreted form. Trimeric soluble ENV GPs are also better immunogens for production of virus neutralising antibodies. Purpose of this review is to provide an overview of problems and potential solutions to the production of secreted trimeric viral ENV proteins for structural studies, clinical or diagnostic purposes.

Serological Detection of FMD Serotypes by New Prepared Innovative Recombinant Hepta-Epitopic Peptide
Background: Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious and economically important disease that affects cloven-hoofed animals worldwide. In recent years, a series of outbreaks of FMD have occurred in many countries. Recombinant protein synthesis incorporating protective B- and T-cell epitopes are candidates for new safer and more effective (FMD) vaccines that have potential to provide p...
متن کاملCharacterization of the viral O-glycopeptidome: a novel tool of relevance for vaccine design and serodiagnosis.
Viral envelope proteins mediate interactions with host cells, leading to internalization and intracellular propagation. Envelope proteins are glycosylated and are known to serve important functions in masking host immunity to viral glycoproteins. However, the viral infectious cycle in cells may also lead to aberrant glycosylation that may elicit immunity. Our knowledge of immunity to aberrant v...
متن کاملOprF and OprL Conjugate as Vaccine Candidates against Pseudomonas aeruginosa; an in Silico Study
Introduction: Vaccine studies against Pseudomonas aeruginosa have often focused on outer membrane proteins (OPRs) due to their potent stimulation of the immune response. Using major outer membrane proteins of cell walls (mOMPs) of P. aeruginosa and other Gram-negative bacteria actively stimulate the immune system without any toxic side effects. Moreover, these antigens show immunological cross-...
متن کاملComparison of two gel filtration chromatography resins for the purification of foot-and-mouth disease virus as a purified vaccine antigen
Introduction: Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious and economically devastating viral disease of livestock that is categorized in list A of animal diseases by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE). Vaccination is effective against FMD and the vaccine production centers largely use the industrial ultra-filtration and chromatography in order to remove the cellular proteins...
متن کاملStable, uncleaved HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein gp140 forms a tightly folded trimer with a native-like structure.
The HIV-1 envelope spike [trimeric (gp160)3, cleaved to (gp120/gp41)3] is the mediator of viral entry and the principal target of humoral immune response to the virus. Production of a recombinant preparation that represents the functional spike poses a challenge for vaccine development, because the (gp120/gp41)3 complex is prone to dissociation. We have reported previously that stable HIV-1 gp1...
