Non-invasive Technologies for Intracranial Pressure/volume Measurement

چکیده
The paper shows that innovative technologies for noninvasive monitoring of the cerebral blood flow autoregulation, cerebral blood flow pulse and slow waves also for the registration of the reactions to the neurodiagnostic tests can be developed on the basis of the precise measurement of brain parenchyma acoustic characteristics. The innovative technological equipment for such measurement has been developed. The clinical studies proving the validity of the concepts chosen have been carried out. For the first time the innovative non-invasive method has been designed for the ICP absolute value measurement without the necessity of individual calibration of system “non-invasive meter – patient”.

Non-invasive assessment of intracranial biomechanics of the human brain
This review paper describes innovative methods and technology for non-invasive human brain physiological monitoring based on measuring the acoustic properties of the brain parenchyma. The clinical investigation of new technology shows the similarity between the invasively recorded intracranial pressure (ICP) and non-invasively recorded intracranial blood volume (IBV) pulse waves, slow waves and...
متن کاملNon-invasive measurement of intracranial compliance using cine MRI in normal pressure hydrocephalus.
The aim of this study is to clarify biophysics of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) based on non-invasive intracranial compliance measurement using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Patients with NPH after subarachnoid hemorrhage (NPH group, n = 5), brain atrophy or asymptomatic ventricular dilation (VD group, n = 5), and healthy volunteers (control group, n = 12) were included in this study....
متن کاملMeasurement of fontanelle pressure (Part I). A new instrument for non-invasive measurement of intracranial pressure via the anterior fontanelle.
Intracranial pressure (ICP) is one of the most important parameters for evaluating intracranial conditons. The skulls of newborns and infants, unlike the tightly sutured skull of adults, provide non-invasive access for measurement of ICPs via the anterior fontanelle. A new transducer has been developed which is convenient for non-invasive, continuous measurement of intracranial pressure through...
متن کاملIntracranial Pressure Monitoring: Invasive versus Non-Invasive Methods—A Review
Monitoring of intracranial pressure (ICP) has been used for decades in the fields of neurosurgery and neurology. There are multiple techniques: invasive as well as noninvasive. This paper aims to provide an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of the most common and well-known methods as well as assess whether noninvasive techniques (transcranial Doppler, tympanic membrane displacement,...
متن کاملNew modalities for non-invasive positive pressure ventilation: A review article
Efficiency of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation in the treatment of respiratory failure has been shown in many published studies. In this review article, we introduced new modalities of non-invasive ventilation (NIV), clinical settings in which NIV can be used and a practical summary of the latest official guidelines published by the European Respiratory Clinical Practice. Clinical tri...
