چکیده
The voltage and current THD values of the symmetric inverter operated by fundamental switching frequency are closer to the IEEE 519 standard. Some additional filter circuit is required to minimize the THD values within the specified limits. However symmetric multilevel inverter requires more number of components and driver circuits. Asymmetric multilevel inverter is proposed in this chapter to eliminate the above said problems. Same number of voltage levels can be attained with the asymmetric type multilevel inverter (Jose Rodriguez et al 2002).
