چکیده

1. The equilibrium constant for oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate by NADP(+), catalysed by isocitrate dehydrogenase, was measured in solutions of various ionic strengths and at several temperatures. 2. Thermodynamic values for the reaction were obtained by extrapolation to zero ionic strength, and the heat of reaction was estimated. 3. The effect of Mg(2+) ion concentration on the equilibrium was studied.

The Investigation on Interaction between Two Hepatic Enzymes and some Minerals in Broiler Chickens

The objectives of this study were to determinethe interactions between two hepatic enzymes and some minerals in the liver of broiler chickens. The study was performed with male and female from 1 to 56 days of age of broiler chickens. Malic acid was added to the water and offered to chickens freely from the start to the end of the experiment with constant concentration. The treatments consisted ...

Effect of modification of a methionyl residue on the kinetic and molecular properties of isocitrate dehydrogenase.

Pig heart isocitrate dehydrogenase, which catalyzes the TPN-dependent dehydrogenation of isocitrate as well as the decarboxylation of oxalosuccinate, is inactivated by treatment with iodoacetate at pH 5.5 and 30’. Approximately 1 mole of “C-labeled reagent is incorporated per mole of protein. The effect of alkylation on the isocitrate dehydrogenase activity is greater than that on the oxalosucc...

Nondecarboxylating and decarboxylating isocitrate dehydrogenases: oxalosuccinate reductase as an ancestral form of isocitrate dehydrogenase.

Isocitrate dehydrogenase (ICDH) from Hydrogenobacter thermophilus catalyzes the reduction of oxalosuccinate, which corresponds to the second step of the reductive carboxylation of 2-oxoglutarate in the reductive tricarboxylic acid cycle. In this study, the oxidation reaction catalyzed by H. thermophilus ICDH was kinetically analyzed. As a result, a rapid equilibrium random-order mechanism was s...

Effect of Complexation Reaction Constant on the Separation of Propylene/Propane by Supported Liquid Membrane

Traditional systems for olefin/paraffin separation, like low-temperature distillation, are expensive and very energy consuming, and therefore, alternative separation methods are desired. Facilitated transport membranes are new tools for this separation to be substituted in large scale separation of olefin-paraffin mixtures. To design a membrane process for olefin-paraffin separation, equilibriu...

Role of phosphoenolpyruvate in the NADP-isocitrate dehydrogenase and isocitrate lyase reaction in Escherichia coli.

Phosphoenolpyruvate inhibited Escherichia coli NADP-isocitrate dehydrogenase allosterically (Ki of 0.31 mM) and isocitrate lyase uncompetitively (Ki' of 0.893 mM). Phosphoenolpyruvate enhances the uncompetitive inhibition of isocitrate lyase by increasing isocitrate, which protects isocitrate dehydrogenase from the inhibition, and contributes to the control through the tricarboxylic acid cycle ...
