The Anatomy of Equinox - An Extensible Automated Reasoning Tool for First-Order Logic and Beyond - (Talk Abstract)
نویسنده
چکیده
Equinox is an automated reasoning tool for first-order logic. It is also a framework for building highly targeted automated reasoning tools for specific domains. The aim behind Equinox is to obtain an automated reasoning tool with a modular and extensible architecture. SAT modulo theory (SMT) solvers have the same aim. However, the way in which this aim is realized in Equinox is quite different from the way this is done traditional SMT solvers.

We study the history and recent developments in nonelementarymodel theory focusing on the framework of abstractelementary classes. We discuss the role of syntax and semanticsand the motivation to generalize first order model theory to nonelementaryframeworks and illuminate the study with concrete examplesof classes of models. متن کاملImplementing an Instantiation-based Theorem Prover for First-order Logic
The basic idea behind instantiation-based theorem proving is to combine clever generation of instances of clauses with satisfiability checking of ground formulas. There are a number of approaches developed and implemented in recent years: Ordered Semantic Hyper Linking of Plaisted and Zhu, Disconnection Calculus of Letz and Stenz implemented in DCTP, Model Evolution Calculus of Baumgartner and ...
متن کاملSymbolic Computation and Automated Reasoning for Program Analysis
This talk describes how a combination of symbolic computation techniques with first-order theorem proving can be used for solving some challenges of automating program analysis, in particular for generating and proving properties about the logically complex parts of software. The talk will first present how computer algebra methods, such as Gröbner basis computation, quantifier elimination and ...
