Which Point Configurations are Determined by the Distribution of their Pairwise Distances?

چکیده
In a previous paper we showed that, for any , most sets of points in are determined (up to rotations, reflections, translations and relabeling of the points) by the distribution of their pairwise distances. But there are some exceptional point configurations which are not reconstructible from the distribution of distances in the above sense. In this paper, we concentrate on the planar case and present a reconstructibility test with running time . The cases of orientation preserving rigid motions (rotations and translations) and scalings are also discussed.

Investigation of Anisotropy Caused by Cylinder Applicator on Dose Distribution around Cs-137 Brachytherapy Source using MCNP4C Code
Introduction: Brachytherapy is a type of radiotherapy in which radioactive sources are used in proximity of tumors normally for treatment of malignancies in the head, prostate and cervix. Materials and Methods: The Cs-137 Selectron source is a low-dose-rate (LDR) brachytherapy source used in a remote afterloading system for treatment of different cancers. This system uses active and inactive sp...
متن کاملDetermination of virtual point for HPGe detector at various gamma rays energies by simulation and experimental methods
High Purity Germanium detectors (HPGe) are subdivisions of semiconductor detectors which are widely used in nuclear technology from space industry to nuclear medicine, due to their high resolution, low dead time, unlimited size and compatibility with a variety of environments. The( absolute and intrinsic) efficiency of the HPGe detector, which depends on the geometry of the source-detector syst...

متن کاملOn reconstructing n-point configurations from the distribution of distances or areas
One way to characterize configurations of points up to congruence is by considering the distribution of all mutual distances between points. This paper deals with the question if point configurations are uniquely determined by this distribution. After giving some counterexamples, we prove that this is the case for the vast majority of configurations. In the second part of the paper, the distrib...
متن کاملTESTING FOR “RANDOMNESS” IN SPATIAL POINT PATTERNS, USING TEST STATISTICS BASED ON ONE-DIMENSIONAL INTER-EVENT DISTANCES
To test for “randomness” in spatial point patterns, we propose two test statistics that are obtained by “reducing” two-dimensional point patterns to the one-dimensional one. Also the exact and asymptotic distribution of these statistics are drawn.
