چکیده

Experiments on two-dimensional soap froth under temperature ramping have been performed. At constant temperatures, the classical linear dependence of the averaged cell area with time is observed at di8'erent temperatures. The rate of change of area depends sensitively on temperature. For froths under constant temperature ramping, in contrast to the classical results, a quadratic evolution of the average cell area is observed. This can be explained by a linear dependence of the diffusion rate on temperature.

Topological model of soap froth evolution with deterministic T2-processes

We introduce a modified topological model for the evolution of twodimensional soap froth. The topological rearrangement associated with a T2 process is deterministic; the final topology depends on the areas of the neighboring cells. The new model gives agreement with experiments in the transient regime, where the previous models failed qualitatively, and also improves agreement in the scaling s...

Cluster persistence: A discriminating probe of soap froth dynamics

– The persistent decay of bubble clusters in coarsening two-dimensional soap froths is measured experimentally as a function of cluster volume fraction. A dramatically stronger decay is observed in comparison to soap froth models and to measurements and calculations of persistence in other systems. The fraction of individual bubbles that contain any persistent area also decays, implying signifi...

Damage spreading in two-dimensional trivalent cellular structures with competing Glauber and Kawasaki dynamics.

The damage spreading of the Ising model on several two-dimensional trivalent structures, including soap froth, Voronoi, and hierarchical structures, are studied with competing Glauber and Kawasaki dynamics. The damage spreading transition temperature T(d) and the Curie temperature T(C) of these structures are compared. We find that T(d) of the hierarchical lattices decreases sharply as the prob...

Flotation De-inking of 50% Onp/ 50% Omg Recovered Papers Mixtures Using Nonionic Surfactant, Soap, and Surfactant/soap Blends

A laboratory flotation column equipped with Venturi aerators and an adjustable froth removal system was used to study the effect of calcium soap and a mixture of calcium soap/alkyl phenol ethoxylate surfactant on ink and fibres transfer during flotation de-inking of a 50% old newprint (ONP) / 50% old magazines (OMG) recovered papers mixture. Mass transport phenomena determining the yield of the...
