چکیده

More and more popular electric vehicles are excellent application platforms for steerby-wire (SBW) system. Handling stabilities and active safety are greatly improved when SBW is adopted in electric vehicle. The proposed new architecture of SBW electric vehicle is introduced, its dynamics model is built after the principle and structure. The algorithm achieves the yaw motion of electric vehicle by the feedback of both yaw rate and front steering angle. The coordination of these actuators is achieved through the controller of the feedback gains with respect to electric vehicle speed. The gain scheduled steering controller provides the desired yaw rate damping while keeping the yaw-lateral motion decoupled. The simulation test results show the effectiveness of the proposed architecture and steering control system when the SBW electric vehicle is subject to critical driving situations.

Energy Optimal Control Design for Steer-by-Wire Systems and Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Evaluation

A Steer-By-Wire (SBW) control scheme is proposed for enhancing the lateral stability and handling capability of a super lightweight vehicle by using the energy optimal control method. Tire dissipation power and virtual power, which is the product of yaw moment and the deviation of actual yaw rate from the target yaw rate, were selected as performance measures to be minimized. The SBW control sc...

Enhancement of Articulated Heavy Vehicle Stability by Optimal Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) Controller of Roll-yaw Dynamics

Non-linear characteristic of tire forces is the main cause of vehicle lateral dynamics instability, while direct yaw moment control is an effective method to recover the vehicle stability. In this paper, an optimal linear quadratic regulator (LQR) controller for roll-yaw dynamics to articulated heavy vehicles is developed. For this purpose, the equations of motion obtained by the MATLAB sof...
