Let C be a full subcategory of the category of topological abelian groups and SPC denote the full subcategory of subobjects of products of objects of C. We say that SPC has Mackey coreeections if there is a functor that assigns to each object A of SPC an object A that has the same group of characters as A and is the nest topology with that property. We show that the existence of Mackey coreeections in SPC is equivalent to the injectivity of the circle with respect to topological subgroups of groups in C. 1. Introduction Consider a full subcategory C of the category of topological abelian groups that includes the circle group T = R=Z. If A is a topological group, then a character on A is a continuous homomorphism : A ?! T. We let A b denote the discrete group of all characters of A. Let SPC denote the closure of C with respect to arbitrary products and subobjects. If A is an object of SPC, we say that A is a Mackey group in SPC if, whenever e

On Mackey Topologies in Topological Abelian Groups
Let C be a class of topological abelian groups and SPC denote the full subcategory of subobjects of products of objects of C. We say that SPC has Mackey coreflections if there is a functor that assigns to each object A of SPC an object τA that has the same group of characters as A and is the finest topology with that property. We show that the existence of Mackey coreflections in SPC is equival...
متن کاملOn continuous cohomology of locally compact Abelian groups and bilinear maps
Let $A$ be an abelian topological group and $B$ a trivial topological $A$-module. In this paper we define the second bilinear cohomology with a trivial coefficient. We show that every abelian group can be embedded in a central extension of abelian groups with bilinear cocycle. Also we show that in the category of locally compact abelian groups a central extension with a continuous section can b...
متن کاملDual Topologies on Non-abelian Groups
The notion of locally quasi-convex abelian group, introduce by Vilenkin, is extended to maximally almost-periodic non-necessarily abelian groups. For that purpose, we look at certain bornologies that can be defined on the set rep(G) of all finite dimensional continuous representations on a topological group G in order to associate well behaved group topologies (dual topologies) to them. As a co...
متن کاملOn Generalized Injective Spaces in Generalized Topologies
In this paper, we first present a new type of the concept of open sets by expressing some properties of arbitrary mappings on a power set. With the generalization of the closure spaces in categorical topology, we introduce the generalized topological spaces and the concept of generalized continuity and become familiar with weak and strong structures for generalized topological spaces. Then, int...
متن کاملFirst non-abelian cohomology of topological groups II
In this paper we introduce a new definition of the first non-abelian cohomology of topological groups. We relate the cohomology of a normal subgroup $N$ of a topological group $G$ and the quotient $G/N$ to the cohomology of $G$. We get the inflation-restriction exact sequence. Also, we obtain a seven-term exact cohomology sequence up to dimension 2. We give an interpretation of the first non-a...
