A Semantics for Equational Hybrid Propositional Type Theory

The definition of identity in terms of other logical symbols is a recurrent issue in logic. In particular, in First-Order Logic (FOL) there is no way of defining the global relation of identity, while in standard Second-Order Logic (SOL) this definition is not only possible, but widely used. In this paper, the reverse question is posed and affirmatively answered: Can we define with only equalit...

Equality propositional logic and its extensions

We introduce a new formal logic, called equality propositional logic. It has two basic connectives, $boldsymbol{wedge}$ (conjunction) and $equiv$ (equivalence). Moreover, the $Rightarrow$ (implication) connective can be derived as $ARightarrow B:=(Aboldsymbol{wedge}B)equiv A$. We formulate the equality propositional logic and demonstrate that the resulting logic has reasonable properties such a...

A Hilbert-Style Axiomatisation for Equational Hybrid Logic

This paper introduces an axiomatisation for equational hybrid logic based on previous axiomatizations and natural deduction systems for propositional and firstorder hybrid logic. Its soundness and completeness is discussed. This work is part of a broader research project on the development a general proof calculus for hybrid logics.

An Equation-Based Classical Logic

We propose and study a logic able to state and reason about equational constraints, by combining aspects of classical propositional logic, equational logic, and quantifiers. The logic has a classical structure over an algebraic base, and a form of universal quantification distinguishing between local and global validity of equational constraints. We present a sound and complete axiomatization f...
