چکیده

Analyzing multiple microarray experimental data sets, which are comprised of levels of gene expression, induces several challenges. Of particular interest to biologists are genes that are differentially expressed, that is, significantly altered up or down levels over time, which may lead to identification of disease involved genes. Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) is a computational method that has the ability to align time-oriented microarray gene expression data and capture patterns that are useful in the identification of differentially expressed genes. Microarray analysis tools limit ability to ask novel and complex question by a computer scientist to assist life science research. The expressive power of relational databases can remove these limitations. However, DTW operations are not currently available in relational databases. We propose an approach, using relational algebra extensions, to implement DTW in relational databases. This will enhance the computer scientists to provide information to life scientist, which can lead to the identification of disease involved genes.

Robot Arm Performing Writing through Speech Recognition Using Dynamic Time Warping Algorithm

This paper aims to develop a writing robot by recognizing the speech signal from the user. The robot arm constructed mainly for the disabled people who can’t perform writing on their own. Here, dynamic time warping (DTW) algorithm is used to recognize the speech signal from the user. The action performed by the robot arm in the environment is done by reducing the redundancy which frequently fac...

Pseudo-Local Alignment of Continuous Time Series

Time series occur throughout nature and within almost every discipline of science. Producing accurate alignments of time series data was made feasible with the Dynamic Time Warping algorithm. Through stretching and compressing of individual points in time series data, this algorithm produces accurate and intuitive global time series alignments. In this paper, we extend the DTW algorithm to perf...

Merging microarray cell synchronization experiments through curve alignment

MOTIVATION The validity of periodic cell cycle regulation studies in plants is seriously compromised by the relatively poor quality of cell synchrony that is achieved for plant suspension cultures in comparison to yeast and mammals. The present state-of-the-art plant synchronization techniques cannot offer a complete cell cycle coverage and moreover a considerable loss of cell synchrony may occ...

Integration and Reduction of Microarray Gene Expressions Using an Information Theory Approach

The DNA microarray is an important technique that allows researchers to analyze many gene expression data in parallel. Although the data can be more significant if they come out of separate experiments, one of the most challenging phases in the microarray context is the integration of separate expression level datasets that have gathered through different techniques. In this paper, we prese...

KNN-DTW Based Missing Value Imputation for Microarray Time Series Data

Microarray technology provides an opportunity for scientists to analyze thousands of gene expression profiles simultaneously. However, microarray gene expression data often contain multiple missing expression values due to many reasons. Effective methods for missing value imputation in gene expression data are needed since many algorithms for gene analysis require a complete matrix of gene arra...
