Effect of protein deficiency on response of ovaries to exogenous gonadotrophins.

چکیده
The adult protein deficient rats having anestrus, began to show estrus in vaginal smear after gonadotrophin administration. HCG administration prod uced same amount of ascorbic acid depletion in ovaries of protein deficient rats as in the control rats. The uterus and ovary weights increased and on histological examination the ovaries showed a follicular and luteal phase; in response to PMS, and PMS and HCG injection respectively.

Neuroprotective Effect of Exogenous Melatonin on Dopaminergic Neurons of the Substantia Nigra in Ovariectomized Rats
Background: Melatonin has receptors in substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc) and regulates development of dopaminergic (DA) neurons. This study was undertaken to determine ability of melatonin to protect SNc dopaminergic neuron loss induced by estrogen deficiency in ovariectomized rats. Methods: Female rats were randomized into four groups of seven each: control, ethanol sham, ovariectomy (ovx) ...

ABSTRACT: The effect of protein deficiency on the immune response upon primary and secondary stimulation with 5×108 sheep red blood cells (SRBC) was studied in 4 groups of mice fed by diets containing 4 or 21 percent of protein.Primary and secondary immune response were assessed by quantification of direct and indirect plaque forming cells (PFC) in immune spleens and by titration of serum hema...
متن کاملP-15: Effect of Testosterone on Antioxidant Biomarkers in Mice with Spinal Cord Injury
Background: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a traumatic or nontraumatic injury that can leads to loss of functions such as feeling or mobility along with permanent and debilitating influences on the patient’s quality of life. Patients with SCI have weakened sexual function and a distinctive sperm profile described by normal to high sperm concentrations and unusually low sperm mobility. The reason o...
متن کاملTestosterone patch improves ovarian follicular response to gonadotrophins in a patient with Kallmann's syndrome: a case report.
Achieving ovulation in women with Kallmann's syndrome requires both exogenous FSH and LH to successfully stimulate follicular maturation and ovarian steroidogenesis. We present a case of a woman with Kallmann's syndrome, who had poor ovarian response to stimulation by exogenous gonadotrophins. When she was given testosterone by patch before initiation of gonadotrophins, her stimulation dramatic...
متن کاملPredictors of ovarian response: progress towards individualized treatment in ovulation induction and ovarian stimulation.
Ovarian stimulation is applied in the clinic to restore mono-ovulatory cycles in anovulatory women (ovulation induction) or to induce the development of multiple dominant follicles for assisted reproduction. Ovarian response is the endocrine and follicular reaction of the ovaries to stimulation. Achieving an appropriate ovarian response to anti-estrogens or exogenous gonadotrophins is central t...
