Interactive content-based video indexing and browsing

چکیده
In this paper we present a framework for eRicient representation, access, and manipulation of video data. Our approach is based on decomposing video information into its spatial (appearance), temporal (dynamics), geometric components. This derived information is organized into data representations that support non-linear browsing and efficient indexing to provide rapid access directly to the information of interest.

OVIDIUS: A Web Platform for Video Browsing and Search
This paper presents the interactive web-based video retrieval platform so-called OVIDIUS (On-line VIDeo Indexing Universal System). OVIDIUS makes it possible to browse and access video content in a fine, per segment basis. The hierarchical metadata exploits the MPEG-7 approach for structural description of video content by decomposing the video in scenes, shots and keyframes. The user has the p...
متن کاملAn environment for interactive video organization
Raw video needs to be organized into a meaningful structure to allow easy browsing and content-based indexing. We propose and implement an interactive video organization system which allows the user to verify or correct the results of automatic algorithms at all levels of processing. The organized video is depicted as a hierarchical tree structure. The user has access to interfaces which allow ...
متن کاملFischlar on a PDA: handheld user interface design to a video indexing, browsing and playback system
The Físchlár digital video system is a web-based system for recording, analysis, browsing and playback of TV programmes which currently has about 350 users. Although the user interface to the system is designed for desktop PCs with a large screen and a mouse, we are developing versions to allow the use of mobile devices to access the system to record and browse the video content. In this paper,...
متن کاملCompressed Domain Scene Change Detection Based on Transform Units Distribution in High Efficiency Video Coding Standard
Scene change detection plays an important role in a number of video applications, including video indexing, searching, browsing, semantic features extraction, and, in general, pre-processing and post-processing operations. Several scene change detection methods have been proposed in different coding standards. Most of them use fixed thresholds for the similarity metrics to determine if there wa...
متن کاملA Video Browsing Application Based on Visual MPEG-7 Descriptors and Self-Organising Maps
The paper introduces a novel approach for interactive video browsing that makes video content fully transparent to the user. Video clips are analysed and indexed by two tree structures: a content index tree representing the content of automatically segmented video shots and a time index tree representing the temporal structure. The index top levels give an overview over the entire content. Subs...
