چکیده

Background High temporal resolution required for CMR perfusion imaging results in compromised spatial resolution. However, recent advances, including the use of the advanced acceleration method k-t sensitivity encoding, allow myocardial perfusion imaging with unprecedented spatial resolution. The associated benefits remain to be fully described. The BCIS-1 Myocardial Jeopardy Score (JS) quantifies the amount of myocardium in jeopardy from severe CAD (0= no jeopardy; 12 = maximum jeopardy). It accommodates patients with CABG and left main disease, is prognostically relevant and can easily be calculated by visual analysis of the X-ray coronary angiogram (XCA). Combined perfusion and scar CMR imaging should provide equivalent functional information on myocardial jeopardy. High-resolution perfusion imaging may improve the correlation between JS and CMR findings.

Assessment of ischaemic burden in angiographic three-vessel coronary artery disease with high-resolution myocardial perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging

AIMS This study compared the myocardial ischaemic burden (MIB) in patients with angiographic three-vessel coronary artery disease (3VD) using high-resolution and standard-resolution myocardial perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (perfusion CMR) imaging. METHODS AND RESULTS One hundred and five patients undergoing coronary angiography had two separate stress/rest perfusion CMR studies,...

Performance of myocardial perfusion imaging using multi-focus fan beam collimator with resolution recovery reconstruction in a comparison with conventional SPECT

Objective: IQSPECT is an advanced high-speed SPECT modality for performing myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), which uses a multi-focus fan beam collimator with resolution recovery reconstruction. The aim of this study was to compare IQSPECT compared with conventional SPECT interms of performance based on standard clinical protocols. In addition, we examined the concordance between convention...

Factors associated with false‐negative cardiovascular magnetic resonance perfusion studies: A Clinical evaluation of magnetic resonance imaging in coronary artery disease (CE‐MARC) substudy

PURPOSE To examine factors associated with false-negative cardiovascular magnetic resonance (MR) perfusion studies within the large prospective Clinical Evaluation of MR imaging in Coronary artery disease (CE-MARC) study population. Myocardial perfusion MR has excellent diagnostic accuracy to detect coronary heart disease (CHD). However, causes of false-negative MR perfusion studies are not wel...

Three-dimensional first-pass myocardial perfusion MRI using a stack-of-spirals acquisition.

Three-dimensional cardiac magnetic resonance perfusion imaging is promising for the precise sizing of defects and for providing high perfusion contrast, but remains an experimental approach primarily due to the need for large-dimensional encoding, which, for traditional 3DFT imaging, requires either impractical acceleration factors or sacrifices in spatial resolution. We demonstrated the feasib...

Quantification of myocardium at risk in ST- elevation myocardial infarction: a comparison of contrast-enhanced steady-state free precession cine cardiovascular magnetic resonance with coronary angiographic jeopardy scores

BACKGROUND Clinical outcome following acute myocardial infarction is predicted by final infarct size evaluated in relation to left ventricular myocardium at risk (MaR). Contrast-enhanced steady-state free precession (CE-SSFP) cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is not widely used for assessing MaR. Evidence of its utility compared to traditional assessment methods and as a surrogate...
