Electronic compensation of inductive voltage dividers and standard voltage transformers
نویسنده
چکیده
A new compensating system is proposed to reduce the ratio error and the phase error of inductive voltage dividers and standard voltage transformers, operating at no load. An electronic amplifier reduces the input current, which is the main cause of error in low-frequency applications, while at the same time the input impedance is greatly increased.

Voltage Sag in Distribution Systems- A review and comparative study (Reasons, Characteristics, Compensations and Detection)
By quick technological advancements in industrial control processes, major industries demand higher power quality. According to IEEE 1159-1995 standard, any problems in voltage, current or frequency that lead to the error or malfunctions in electrical equipment are considered as a power quality problem. Among the power quality phenomena, voltage sag has been an important problem for power sys...
متن کاملCalibration of Multi-decade Inductive Voltage Dividers
Abstract: A method for calibrating multi-decade inductive voltage dividers has been developed which makes it possible to determine both the inphase and the quadrature error for ratios of i /11, i = 1, 2, ..., 10 in the frequency range from 400 Hz to 5 kHz. Calibration is made by comparing the divider under test against a reference two-stage divider having a ratio winding with 11 identical secti...
متن کاملThe Effectiveness of Dynamic Voltage Restorer with the Distribution Networks for Voltage Sag Compensation
This paper discusses the Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) operation and control for Voltage sags compensation. DVR is a series connected power electronic based device that can quickly mitigate the voltage sags in the system and restore the load voltage to the pre-fault value. Voltage sag associated with faults in transmission and distribution systems, energizing of transformers, and starting of l...
متن کاملمعرفی روش تطبیقی اصلاح شده برای اندازهگیری دقیق ولتاژ در مبدل ولتاژ نوری
There are fewer problems encountered with optical voltage transducers in comparison with their inductive and capacitive counterparts. Although capacitive and inductive transformers are used vastly for the purpose of measurement and protection in the networks, they cause problems such as core saturation and improper transient responses which decrease the accuracy of measurement and eficiency of ...
متن کاملHow a Dimmer Works
There are several types of dimmers generally available. Those employing triac or thyristor devices operate in a very similar fashion. These are used for resistive, and inductive loads, such as incandescent, cold cathode and low voltage (inductive) lamp sources. Note that not all electronic transformers used for low voltage lamps are suitable for dimming by triac or thyristor dimmers. Specialist...
