چکیده

CTG monitoring of the fetal heart rate and uterine contractions during pregnancy and delivery provide information on the physiological condition of the fetus needed to identify hypoxia. Interpretation, however, requires experience and important patterns might be missed or misinterpreted due to stress, exhaustion or distraction. Interpretation has also been reported subjective with poor reproducibility. Computerized analysis of the fetal heart rate could help overcome these issues and provide fully reproducible analysis. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate algorithms for automated detection of fetal heart rate accelerations and decelerations and estimating the basal heart rate, for fetal monitoring during labor. Algorithms have been developed and the performance has been compared to the opinions of clinical experts and to other competing algorithms. Disagreement between clinical experts is considerably high for both acceleration and deceleration detection, but the observers are fairly consistent in estimating the basal heart rate. The developed algorithms all perform better than the competing algorithms and the performance is within or close to the uncertainty between the clinical experts.

مقایسه نتایج Non-stress test اواخر سه ماهه دوم حاملگی در نوزادان با وزن متناسب و نوزادان کوچک نسبت به سن حاملگی در بیمارستان آرش در سال 81-1380

Background: The purpose of this study was to compare electronic fetal heart rate monitoring (EFM) characteristics between Appropriate for Gestational Age (AGA ) and Small for Gestational Age (SGA) fetuses and to determine whether SGA fetuses have specific abnormalities. Materials and Methods: Among children born from Apr 2002 to Mar 2003 in Arash hospital, we identified 300 singleton infants b...

Identifying and Analyzing Stop and Go Traffic based on Asymmetric Theory of Driving Behavior in Acceleration and Deceleration

Stop and go traffic that leads to oscillate traffic flow frequently is observed on congestion flow. Unexpected reasons such as lane – changing maneuvers, lower speeds of leader vehicle and moving bottleneck cause stop and go traffic and amplifying delay and environment impacts. Stop and go traffic exactly can’t be modeled by traffic models, and also car following models based on kinematic flow ...

Three-dimensional baselines for perceived self-motion during acceleration and deceleration in a centrifuge.

Three-dimensional motion trajectories were computed, representing the motions that would be perceived by a perfect processor of acceleration information during the acceleration and deceleration stages of a centrifuge run. These motions serve as "baselines" for perceived self-motion in a centrifuge, and depend on the initial perception of orientation and velocity immediately preceding the accele...

Visual Acceleration Perception for Simple and Complex Motion Patterns

Humans are able to judge whether a target is accelerating in many viewing contexts, but it is an open question how the motion pattern per se affects visual acceleration perception. We measured acceleration and deceleration detection using patterns of random dots with horizontal (simpler) or radial motion (more visually complex). The results suggest that we detect acceleration better when viewin...

Development of heart rate irregularities in chick embryos.

Heart rate (HR) irregularities in chick embryos were defined as large fluctuations (>10 beats/min) comprising irregular, brief deceleration and/or acceleration of instantaneous HR (IHR). IHR was determined directly from the arterial blood pressure while adequate gas exchange was maintained through an eggshell and chorioallantoic membrane. Five embryos were examined on each day from day 11 to da...
