چکیده

We present consensus analysis of systems with single integrator dynamics interacting via time-varying graphs under the event-triggered control paradigm. Event-triggered control sparsifies the control applied, thus reducing the control effort expended. Initially, we consider a multi-agent system with persistently exciting interactions and study the behaviour under the application of event-triggered control with two types of trigger functionsstatic and dynamic trigger. We show that while in the case of static trigger, the edge-states converge to a ball around the origin, the dynamic trigger function forces the states to reach consensus exponentially. Finally, we extend these results to a more general setting where we consider switching topologies. We show that similar results can be obtained for agents interacting via switching topologies and validate our results by means of simulations.

Analysis of Applying Event-triggered Strategy on the Model Predictive Control

In this paper, the event-triggered strategy in the case of finite-horizon model predictive control (MPC) is studied and its advantages over the input to state stability (ISS) Lyapunov based triggering rule is discussed. In the MPC triggering rule, all the state trajectories in the receding horizon are considered to obtain the triggering rule. Clearly, the finite horizon MPC is sub-optimal with ...

A new virtual leader-following consensus protocol to internal and string stability analysis of longitudinal platoon of vehicles with generic network topology under communication and parasitic delays

In this paper, a new virtual leader following consensus protocol is introduced to perform the internal and string stability analysis of longitudinal platoon of vehicles under generic network topology. In all previous studies on multi-agent systems with generic network topology, the control parameters are strictly dependent on eigenvalues of network matrices (adjacency or Laplacian). Since some ...

Distributed event-triggered communication for dynamic average consensus in networked systems

This paper presents distributed algorithmic solutions that employ opportunistic inter-agent communication to achieve dynamic average consensus. Our solutions endow individual agents with autonomous criteria that can be checked with the information available to them in order to determine whether to broadcast their state to their neighbors. Our starting point is a distributed coordination strateg...

Recent Developments in Discrete Event Systems

This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...

Multi-Objective Event-triggered Consensus of Linear Multi-agent Systems

This paper proposes a distributed consensus algorithm for linear event-based heterogeneous multi-agent systems (MAS). The proposed scheme is event-triggered in the sense that an agent selectively transmits its information within its local neighbourhood based on a directed network topology under the fulfillment of certain conditions. Using the Lyapunov stability theorem, the system constraints a...
