چکیده

Active Queue Management (AQM) based on nonlinear difference equations has been proposed to solve the end-to-end TCP network congestion problem recently. The proposed AQM scheme can guarantee the stability of the multiple bottleneck network by nonlinear control for dropping probability of the routers. Nonlinear control often relies on some heuristics and network traffic controllers that appear to be highly correlated with the multiple bottleneck network state. Based on the proposed nonlinear difference equations for TCP flows control across the network, this paper reveals the reasons of congestion of multiple bottleneck AQM, and provide three theorems for avoiding network congestion. Moreover, we give simulations to verify the results for nonlinear control of the multiple bottleneck network congestion.

TCP Network Calculus: The case of large delay-bandwidth product

We present in this paper an analytical model for the calculation of network load and drop probabilities in a TCP/IP network with general topology. First we formulate our model as a nonlinear complementarity problem. Then we transform the model into two equivalent formulations: fixed point formulation and nonlinear programming formulation. These equivalent formulations provide efficient computat...

Aqm Generalized Nyquist Stability in Multiple Bottleneck Networks ?

The influence of multiple bottlenecks on the stability of Active Queue Management (AQM) controllers, usually configured on a single bottleneck basis is discussed. We consider a network scenario where RED is configured at each router according to previously developed control theoretic techniques. These configuration rules assure stability in a single bottleneck scenario. We show that instability...

An adaptive prediction based approach for congestion estimation in active queue management (APACE)

Active Queue Management (AQM) policies are mechanisms for congestion avoidance, which pro-actively drop packets in order to provide an early congestion notification to the sources. In this paper we propose a new Adaptive Prediction based Approach for Congestion Estimation in Active Queue Management (APACE) that predicts the instantaneous queue length at a future time using adaptive filtering te...
