A New Vector Identification Method Based on Vector Structure and Suffix Tree

Vector identification is significant to remove contamination in ESTs (Expressed Sequence Tags) and extract cDNA insert. This paper describes the vector structures of ESTs for the question of EST vector identification, and presents a new vector identification method combining vector structure and fast sequence alignment method based on suffix tree, which is characterized by building a suffix tree through EST vector structure to carry out vector identification. Using 172229 EST sequences from BLAST, our vector identification experiments verified the effectiveness and feasibility of our method.
