چکیده
Agenesis of teeth is one of the most common human developmental anomalies. Oligodontia is a condition in which there is absence of six or more teeth, which itself is a rare condition. Oligodontia is associated with many syndromes. There is no much literature on oligodontia with ankylogossia. This is case report of a 9 year old girl child, who had missing permanent mandibular anterior teeth and these was also presentation of ankyloglossia. The case report discusses the treatment options and management of the case at this age considering the growth left in the patient and psychologic effect that it might have on the patient.

Developmental disturbances of the tongue (aglossia, macroglossia, microglossia, and ankyloglossia) can adversely affect the development of the surrounding structures including the palate, alveolar process, and teeth. These developmental disturbances impair functions such as mastication, speech, and swallowing. Ankyloglossia is of various types and may be associated with other syndromic features...

This case report describes a patient with ankyloglossia, oligodontia, unilateral hypoplasia of the zygoma and mandible, along with bilateral distal reduction anomalies of his limbs without long bone abnormalities. This may represent a mild variant of oromandibular limb hypogenesis syndrome, expanding the phenotypic spectrum, or a previously unrecognized malformation syndrome.

Oligodontia is a rare dental anomaly with a prevalence of 0.3% in permanent teeth and much less frequency in the primary dentition. Familial oligodontia represents an absence of varying numbers of primary and/or secondary teeth as an isolated trait. It is a complex and multifactorial condition. Many explanations-evolutionary, genetic, and environmental-have been proposed as the etiology. Simult...
