Role of Food Additives on Young Age Silkworm (Bombyxmori .L) Rearing

چکیده
The overall development of silkworm larvae depends on getting the required food which can be easily digested and assimilated in the body tissues properly for the silk synthesis. Keeping this in view, an attempt has been made to increase the growth of young silkworm Bombyx mori. This is ensured through supplementation of food additives, intern biochemical constituents of worm. The results of the experiment revealed that, food additives were found effective in increasing the protein, carbohydrate and lipid content in Chawki worms. Among silkworm hybrids viz, (PM x CSR2, CSR2 xCSR4, APM1 x APS8, APM2 x APS12 and (CSR6 x CSR26) x (CSR2 x CSR27)), the highest protein content of 19.91mg, 21.44mg, 19.83mg, 19.71mg and 24.03mg was recorded on soya flour dusted batches @ 10g/kg of leaves respectively, compare to control (17.63mg, 18.02mg,17.58mg, 17.51mg and 22.72mg). The same trend was noticed in lipid content of all the hybrids. Further it is very much reflected that, even the highest carbohydrate content in the body of young silkworm was recorded on supplementation of corn flour @ 10g / kg of leaves followed by corn flour 5g / kg of leaves in all the silkworm breeds.

Screening Strains of the Mulberry Silkworm, Bombyx mori, for Thermotolerance
A tropical climate prevails in most of the sericultural areas in India, where temperature increases during the summer lead to adverse effects on temperate bivoltine silkworm rearing and cause crop losses. Screening for thermotolerance in the silkworm, Bombyxmori L. (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae) is an essential prerequisite for the development of thermotolerant breeds/hybrids. In the current study, ...
متن کاملAn Evaluation of the Nutrients and Some Anti-nutrients in Silkworm, Bombyxmori L. (Bombycidae: Lepidoptera)
Insects are important as items of aesthetic values, pests and as food. Bombyx mori L. is an economically important insect. It is an edible insect that is eaten in the tropics. The larvae of silkworm, B. mori, are popular for silk production. Silk is produced when the larvae are ready to pupate. Both the larval and the pupal stages of B. mori were analyzed for their nutrient composition, protein...

The effect of temperature and humidity fluctuations on fecundity and fertility of the silkworm lines was investigated during autumn and spring by exposing 4 and 5 instar larvae of eleven inbred silkworm lines ( M101, M-103, M-104, M-107, Pak-1, Pak-2, Pak-3, Pak-4, PFI-1, PFI-2 and S-1) to 25±1°C, 30±1°C and 35±1°C in combination with 55, 65 and 75% relative humidity (RH) for 3hr daily. Tempera...

Eighteen isolates of Aspergillus bombycis from samples of dust, insect frass, and soil collected from eight silkworm rearing facilities in Japan, as well as single silkworm rearing facilities in Indonesia and Malaysia, were subjected to DNA fingerprinting. PstI digests of total genomic DNA from each isolate were probed using the pAF 28 repetitive sequence. Among 18 isolates analyzed, 7 distinct...
متن کاملEffect of 12-hours delay and anticipation from traditional practice in silkworm mounting to spinning frames on economic traits of Bombyx mori (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae) cocoons
In this study, the aim was to determine the effect of 12 hours delay and time advancement of Bombyx mori larvae transfer to spinning frames on the economic traits of harvested cocoons. Our experience focused on the transfer of three lots of silkworm mature larvae to cocoon frames with 12 hours delay or advancement from usual spinning time. Commercial silkworm eggs were obtained and thr...
