Ultrasound-assisted wound debridement device

چکیده
Debridement takes away nonvascularised tissue and cells that may obstruct wound contraction, the formation of granulation tissue and the migration of epithelial cells from the wound edge (Falanga, 2000) to create This article describes a new type of mechanical debridement that uses lowfrequency ultrasound technology, and presents case reports that highlight the use of the Sonoca® (Soring) ultrasound debridement device in clinical practice (Figure 1).

Comparisons of negative pressure wound therapy and ultrasonic debridement for diabetic foot ulcers: a network meta-analysis.
OBJECTIVE a network meta-analysis was performed to compare the strength and weakness of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) with ultrasound debridement (UD) as for diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). METHODS PubMed, Ovid EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane library databases, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database were searched till February 2015. Clinical compared studies of negative pressure wou...
متن کاملThe Effect of Ultrasound-Assisted Debridement Combined with Vacuum Pump Therapy in Deep Sternal Wound Infections.
PURPOSE To assess whether a combined treatment of low-frequency (25 kHz) ultrasonic-debridement systems followed by vacuum-assisted wound closure (VAC) produces a better outcome in deep sternal wound infections (SWIs) compared to that of VAC alone. METHODS We evaluated 45 consecutive patients (25 males) between January 2013 and December 2016, in whom deep SWI was treated with a combination of...
متن کاملLow-frequency ultrasound debridement in patients with diabetic foot ulcers and osteomyelitis.
BACKGROUND Although debridement plays a significant role in the healing of diabetic foot ulcers, it may delay the healing process by damaging the granulation tissue. In this study, the efficacy of low-frequency ultrasound (LFU) in chronic wound healing in diabetic foot ulcers in patients with osteomyelitis was evaluated. METHODS This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 40 patients with...
متن کاملRight Ventricular Perforation From a Floating Rib Following Deep Sternal Wound Infection Debridement and Application of a Vacuum-Assisted Closure Device: A Case Report and Literature Review
Introduction: Deep sternal wound infection following major cardiac surgery is a deleterious complication with sequelae that can be life threatening. The use of vacuum-assisted closure therapy in management of sternal wounds with resultant right ventricular rupture has been documented in the cardiothoracic and to a lesser extent in the reconstructive literature. Methods/Case Report: We present a...
متن کاملThe Immediate and Delayed Post-Debridement Effects on Tissue Bacterial Wound Counts of Hypochlorous Acid Versus Saline Irrigation in Chronic Wounds
Introduction: Wound debridement is considered essential in chronic wound management. Hypochlorous acid has been shown to be an effective agent in reducing wound bacterial counts in open wounds. Ultrasound-enabled wound debridement is an effective and efficient method of debridement. This study compared ultrasound irrigation with hypochlorous acid versus saline irrigation for wound debridement o...
