چکیده

Several inequalities of Kahane-Khintchine’s type in certain Orlicz spaces are proved. For this the classical symmetrization technique is used and four basically different methods have been presented. The first two are based on the well-known estimates for subnormal random variables, see [9], the third one is a consequence of a certain Gaussian-Jensen’s majorization technique, see [6], and the fourth one is obtained by Haagerup-Young-Stechkin’s best possible constants in the classical Khintchine inequalities, see [4]. Moreover, by using the central limit theorem it is shown that this fourth approach gives the best possible numerical constant in the inequality under consideration: If f "i j i 1 g is a Bernoulli sequence, and k k denotes the Orlicz norm induced by the function (x) = e 2 1 for x 2 R ; then the best possible numerical constant C satisfying the following inequality: n X

Maximal Inequalities of Kahane-Khintchine’s Type in Orlicz Spaces

Several maximal inequalities of Kahane-Khintchine’s type in certain Orlicz spaces are proved. The method relies upon Lévy’s inequality and the technique established in [14] which is obtained by Haagerup-Young-Stechkin’s best possible constants in the classical Khintchine inequalities. Moreover by using Donsker’s invariance principle it is shown that the numerical constant in the inequality dedu...

Best Constants in Kahane-Khintchine Inequalities for Complex Steinhaus Functions

for all z1; . . . ; zn 2 C and all n 1 . The constant p 2 is shown to be the best possible. The method of proof relies upon a combinatorial argument, Taylor expansion, and the central limit theorem. The result is additionally strengthened by showing that the underlying functions are Schur-concave. The proof of this fact uses a result on multinomial distribution of Rinott, and Schur’s propositio...

On the Khintchine and Rosenthal Inequalities in Noncommutative Symmetric Spaces

Probabilistic inequalities for independent random variables and martingales play a prominent role in many different areas of mathematical research, such as harmonic analysis, probability theory, Banach space geometry and the study of symmetric function spaces. In the recent years, many of these classical probabilistic inequalities have been generalized to the context of noncommutative Lp-spaces...

Martingale Inequalities in Exponential Orlicz Spaces

A result is found which is similar to BDG-inequalities, but in the framework of exponential (non moderate) Orlicz spaces. A special class of such spaces is introduced and its properties are discussed with respect to probability measures, whose densities are connected by an exponential model. Acknowledgement: Thanks are due to Prof. M. Mania (Georgian Academy of Sciences) for the discussions and...

Sharp Marchaud and Converse Inequalities in Orlicz Spaces

For Lp spaces on Td, Rd and Sd−1 sharp versions of the classical Marchaud inequality are known. These results are extended here to Orlicz spaces (on Td, Rd and Sd−1) for which M(u1/q) is convex for some q, 1 < q ≤ 2, where M(u) is the Orlicz function. Sharp converse inequalities for such spaces are deduced.
