چکیده

Chloroquine resistant falciparum malaria has rapidly spread over central and west Africa (WERNSDORFER & PAYNE, 1991). In southern Cameroon chloroquine resistance was first reported by SANSONNETTI et al. (1985). We measured chloroquine sensitivity in vivo of Plasmodium falciparum in May 1989 and 1991 in schoolchildren in the town of Edea, southern Cameroon, and observed considerable increase over 2 years (GAZIN et al., 1990; MULDER et al., 1992). Parallel studies in vivo in

RESISTANCE OF PLASMODIUM FALCIPARUM TO CHLOROQUINE IN SOUTH EASTERN IRAN

In vivo and in vitro assessments of the response of P. falciparum to chloroquine using WHO standard kits and techniques were carried out in I ran Shahr, Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran in 1985. In the in vivo assessment, 24 malaria patients treated with chloroquine (25mg/kg over three days) were followed up for one to four weeks. The mean parasite clearance time was 4.3 days and in...

سیر مقاومت داروئی مالاریا در ایران طی سال های 80-1362

One of the main problems in malaria control is the resistance of Plasmodium falciparum to chloroquine and some other antimalarial drugs. This resistance is now quite common in most regions where falciparum malaria is endemic. Between 1968 and 1976, two in-vivo studies were carried out in endemic areas in the south of Iran and they showed P. falciparum to be chloroquine-sensitive. In 1983, the D...
