چکیده

A secret key generation algorithm from UWB channel measurements is proposed. The security of the technique is based on the reciprocity and spatial correlation properties of UWB radio channel measurements. The channel reciprocity property allows two communicating radio receivers to measure the state of their common radio channel to a high degree of agreement. The spatial correlation property of the UWB radio channel means that eavesdroppers cannot get accurate measurements of this common channel unless they are within a short distance of one the communicating transceivers. The most important point about the generated key is that it is specific to the location and time of the communications session. In this work, the results of experimental measurements are reported which validate the theoretical assumptions made about the UWB radio channel for secure key generation in previous papers. In addition, the effectiveness of proposed algorithms for generating secret keys from UWB channel measurements are validated on actual channel measurements.

Provably secure and efficient identity-based key agreement protocol for independent PKGs using ECC

Key agreement protocols are essential for secure communications in open and distributed environments. Recently, identity-based key agreement protocols have been increasingly researched because of the simplicity of public key management. The basic idea behind an identity-based cryptosystem is that a public key is the identity (an arbitrary string) of a user, and the corresponding private key is ...

MAC Layer Key Hierarchies and Establishment Procedures

To achieve confidential communication channel between devices they must share a security association that defines the keys and algorithms used to secure the communication. In this paper, methods to create such security associations based on a pre-shared key used in WLAN and WiMedia’s UWB standards are discussed. The standards provide key agreement algorithms that operate on MAC layer based on a...

Ultra Wideband Monopole Antenna Excited by a Capacitive Coupling Feed with Double Band Notch Function

This paper presents the results of a new monopole antenna that exhibits 2.75-10.7 GHz performance. The proposed antenna consists of a radiating patch with notches excited by capacitive coupling feed. Also, the antenna’s truncated ground-plane incorporates a central notch. This modification significantly improves the antenna’s impedance bandwidth by 118% over an ultra-wideband frequency range. T...

SEAL: A secure communication library for building dynamic group key agreement applications

We present the SEcure communicAtion Library (SEAL), a Linux-based C language application programming interface (API) library that implements secure group key agreement algorithms that allow a communication group to periodically renew a common secret group key for secure and private communication. The group key agreement protocols satisfy several important characteristics: distributed property (...

An Enhanced Fault-Tolerant Conference Key Agreement Protocol

Establishing a secure communication of Internet conferences for participants is very important. Before starting the conference, all the participants establish a common conference key to encrypt/decrypt communicated messages. It enables participants to exchange the secure messages. Nevertheless, in the conference, if there are any malicious participants who may try to upset the key generation pr...
